The US military has launched new attacks against Iran. The US Central Command said in a statement on the social media platform X that its forces have launched a "series of powerful strikes" against Iran to exact a heavy price for targeting commercial vessels carrying innocent civilians in international waterways. According to CENTCOM, the attacks are being carried out in response to Iran's alleged attacks on three commercial vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz. The statement added that the alleged aggression by Iran was unjustified, dangerous and a clear violation of the ceasefire. Flames and black clouds of smoke were seen rising from Bandar Abbas after the US bombing.
