Ethereum had a monster Q3. $ETH gained roughly 70% versus Bitcoin’s 42%, but there’s a detail underneath that I think matters more. Reports suggests that ETH’s order book depth near the market price fell to just 35 - 45% of Bitcoin’s, down from at least 60% a year ago. So ETH went up hard while its market got thinner. That cuts both ways. Large buys can push ETH higher faster, but large sells can hurt just as quickly.

FYI, Zcash has activated its NU7 upgrade on testnet. The NU7 upgrade went live at block 4,465,026, and the headline change is pretty simple: $ZEC is targeting 25-second blocks instead of 75 seconds. That means faster confirmations, but NU7 also changes how transaction fees are handled and adds new limits for shielded activity. What I’m watching most is whether the upgrade holds up under real network conditions. If testing goes well, developers are targeting November 5 for mainnet activation, with the final decision expected on October 20. Zcash is basically giving the market a preview of what the next version of the network will look like.

$BTC has a wall sitting above it. Glassnode data interprets that the biggest cluster of short liquidations is around $90K. If BTC reaches that level, a wave of leveraged shorts could get forced out.

Two Bitcoin OGs just woke up after 13 years. They moved only 0.0005 $BTC , worth about $43, as a test transaction. That’s it… unbelievable huh? Their wallet still holds 1,346 $BTC , now worth around $115M. They originally acquired the stash for roughly $240K at an average price of $178 per BTC. That’s a 479x return. Imagine watching your $240K Bitcoin bag turn into $115M, then waking up 13 years later just to send $43. Damn!

Saylor said “More orange than ever.” 👀 Strategy already holds 847,666 $BTC , and its latest confirmed purchase was another 1,665 BTC worth $142.7M. Wouldn’t be surprised if Strategy announces another BTC purchase soon.

The amount of $ETH waiting to be unstaked has jumped 392% since the start of October, reaching roughly 850,000 ETH. A big chunk of the increase is tied to MetaMask exiting around 17,000 validators after its recent security incident. Ethereum also can’t process all those exits at once, so the queue stretches the selling timeline.

Andrew Tate moved $1.87M worth of $HYPE to Binance. Est. 20,950 HYPE was deposited today. He reportedly bought 122,827 HYPE for around $550K about two years ago and still holds roughly 63,550 HYPE, now worth around $5.62M. That’s a pretty serious return on a trade that started at just $4.48 per HYPE. He gonna sell? Well, we will get to see that in the chart…

The $NEAR Intents $3.8M hacker just gave everything back. Less than 24 hours after NEAR said it had identified the person behind the $3.8M exploit, the full amount was returned before the 48-hour deadline. And the message attached to the return was unexpected. The attacker admitted they were “in the wrong,” thanked the NEAR team for handling the situation respectfully, and told them to use bug bounties instead of disrupting services. Crypto hacks usually end with funds disappearing into a maze of wallets. This one ended with the hacker sending every dollar back… This is great!

It’s Official… Tether’s $184B USDT is coming back to Bitcoin this month . Utexo (Backed by Tether) plans to bring Bitcoin-native USDT back this month, with private transfers, direct BTC/USDT swaps and loans using native $BTC as collateral after securing a license to do so. For years, stablecoin activity mostly moved where the infrastructure was easier to use, especially Ethereum and Tron. Now Tether is putting serious effort into making Bitcoin itself a settlement rail for dollars. It looks like Tether is finally trying to make Bitcoin useful for moving dollars at scale again.

$BNB Chain becomes the first Blockchain to cross $1B in tokenized stocks and ETFs. That’s roughly 30% of the entire $3.7B market, making it the first chain to hit that milestone. BNB Chain had only about 13% of this market back in January. Now it’s ahead of Ethereum and Solana. Tokenized stocks are starting to look less like a side experiment and more like a real part of onchain markets.

Bitcoin whales accumulated around 75,000 $BTC over the past 30 days, according to CryptoQuant. That’s roughly $6.5B worth of Bitcoin at current prices. While retail sentiment can turn negative pretty quickly during pullbacks, whales appear to have been using the weakness to add more exposure. If that accumulation continues while BTC stays above key levels, it’ll be worth watching whether the market eventually runs short of available supply.

Some very old $ETH started waking up. Santiment says long-dormant ETH saw its biggest movement since June 2 on September 30. But here’s what makes it interesting: exchange balances barely changed. So far, this doesn’t look like a straightforward old-holder dump.

$BLAST is shutting down. The team says the economics no longer work: maintaining the chain costs more than the revenue it generates, and they don’t see a credible path to making it sustainable. That’s a pretty brutal reality for an L2. Blast launched around native yield, incentives and building an onchain economy, but eventually the chain itself still has to pay for its existence. Users now have until October 26 to withdraw through the normal Blast interface, after which withdrawals will still be possible directly through the Ethereum bridge contracts. The L2 race is getting a little more interesting as projects start having to prove they can actually survive financially.

$BTC broke above $85K after sellers pulled their asks, according to Glassnode. Now the next major sell wall is forming around $87K. I actually like this setup more than a straight breakout because we’re seeing the resistance move higher instead of one massive wall sitting directly above BTC. The question now is whether buyers can chew through $87K too, or if sellers finally push back.

$BTC finally cleared the $85K sell wall after nearly a week of buyers repeatedly testing it, according to Glassnode. A lot of that sell-side liquidity has now disappeared, meaning there is less resistance immediately above BTC. If buyers keep showing up, price may not need to fight through another huge wall right away. NFA/DYOR!

$NEAR Intents says it has identified the person behind the $3.8M exploit and is giving them one final window of 48-hours to return the funds under responsible disclosure. Most of the stolen funds had already been traced onchain, with the majority ending up as BTC across four wallets. Now we wait to see whether the hacker takes the exit or decides to test how far that identification really goes.

There’s about $136.7M worth of $BTC sell orders sitting between $89K and $109K on Coinbase. That’s a lot of supply waiting above the current price. It doesn’t mean BTC can’t break through, because those orders can be canceled or moved at any time. But if buyers push into that range, they’ll have plenty of sellers to absorb first. I can’t help but wonder how quickly those walls will disappear if BTC starts climbing.

Ethereum and XRP sentiment has gotten seriously negative. Santiment says ETH now has just 0.89 bullish comments for every bearish one, its lowest reading since June 7. $XRP is even lower at 0.67, the weakest since August 17.
