Hong Kong Plans Gold Token Backed By 400-Ounce BarsBitcoinWorldHong Kong Plans Gold Token Backed by 400-Ounce Bars Hong Kong outlined plans for a gold-backed token representing a standard 400-ounce bullion bar, with the city’s HAU gold price reference used for pricing and a planned interbank trading project built on the Hong Kong Monetary Authority’s Project Ensemble, Crypto.news reported. Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury Christopher Hui Ching-yu described the interbank tokenization project during Hong Kong FinTech Week on November 2, 2026, saying the government would undertake it “very soon.” Hong Kong has announced plans for a gold-backed token representing a standard 400-ounce bullion bar, priced off the city’s HAU gold reference and aimed at interbank trading under the HKMA’s Project Ensemble. The issuer, custodian, blockchain and launch date were not disclosed, and no retail framework has been announced. The announcement left several core mechanics open. Officials did not name the issuing institution, the location of the physical gold backing the token, or the blockchain that would record ownership. They also did not say whether participating banks could split a token into smaller units or exchange it for physical bullion, and no retail eligibility rules were published. Separately, the Securities and Futures Commission is weighing tokenized gold as a retail product. Ng Ka-lee, executive director of the SFC’s Investment Products Division, said at the same event that a tokenized gold ETF may become the next pilot under a new “Innovation Pathway,” PANews reported. Those remarks concern a different vehicle from the interbank token and were reported by PANews, not Crypto.news. Key facts Hui announced the interbank gold-token project at Hong Kong FinTech Week on November 2, 2026, with HAU as the pricing reference and Project Ensemble as the foundation (Crypto.news). Ant Digital Technologies said on November 2 that its Anvita TaaS platform, running on its Jovay Layer 2, supported a cross-bank transaction involving tokenized gold and bank deposits, with Zhaojin Mining issuing the gold and China Construction Bank (Asia) handling custody and payments (Crypto.news). The HKMA said participating banks can now settle tokenized deposit transactions around the clock using tokenized central bank money, with the EnsembleTX pilot at 12 banks and 20 industry participants (Crypto.news). Hong Kong has 17 approved tokenized retail products covering money market funds, gold products and ETFs, with total assets under management of US$1.3 billion, per SFC’s Ng (PANews). Two tracks: bank settlement and retail products The two announcements point at different audiences. The 400-ounce token is framed around interbank settlement, where banks and professional traders already handle full-size bars. Andrew Fei, a partner at King & Wood, told the South China Morning Post that tokenized gold sits at the meeting point of Hong Kong’s digital-asset and gold-trading priorities, and that Project Ensemble could help move such gold beyond experimental transactions into commercial use. How a 400-ounce token would compare with existing retail products is not yet clear. Paxos states that each PAXG token represents one fine troy ounce held in London vaults, with fractional purchases open to eligible holders, and Tether’s XAUT represents one fine troy ounce held in Switzerland. Both allow far smaller holdings than a full bar. The completed Ant Digital transaction is separate from the newly proposed token, and Crypto.news noted that its participants and blockchain have not been confirmed as providers for the forthcoming project. Why it matters Hong Kong has spent several years building tokenization infrastructure through Project Ensemble, and a gold token tied to a standard institutional bar size would push that work from pilots into a market where banks already trade bullion in large lots. It also matters for anyone holding tokenized gold offshore: the city’s version is pitched at settlement between institutions, not at retail buyers, so it would not function as a drop-in substitute for products like PAXG or XAUT. The parallel SFC work on a gold ETF pilot matters because it signals regulators see a retail route alongside the interbank one. What to watch The open questions are the issuing institution, the vault location and the underlying ledger, none of which officials disclosed. Two dated items sit on the calendar: Hong Kong’s central clearing system for over-the-counter gold entered trial operations in October, with launch expected in the first quarter of 2027, and China CITIC Bank International has targeted 2027 for a commercial settlement service after its pilot with the Hong Kong Gold Exchange. Related projects are moving in parallel. Amazon, Tesla and SpaceX Join 56 Firms Opposing OKXICE Tokenized Stock TradingBitcoinWorldAmazon, Tesla and SpaceX join 56 firms opposing OKXICE tokenized stock trading Amazon, Tesla and SpaceX are among six companies that have newly objected to having their shares traded on OKXICE, lifting the total number of objectors to 56, according to Crypto.news. Netflix, SoFi Technologies and Lam Research joined the same November 2 public notice from the OKXICE platform, a joint venture of crypto exchange OKX and Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), the parent of the New York Stock Exchange. Of the 62 companies OKXICE originally selected for tokenized trading, 49 have now filed objections — roughly 79% — while seven objectors came from outside that initial list. Thirteen companies, including Apple, Coinbase and Robinhood, had no disclosed objections as of the November 2 notice. The six additions mark a jump from the 50 objections recorded in OKXICE’s October 30 update. Earlier rounds of opposition brought in JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, Walmart, McDonald’s, Broadcom, Verizon, Wells Fargo, Nvidia, Nike, Costco, Micron Technology and Reddit, among others. Five of the so-called Magnificent Seven — Amazon, Tesla, Nvidia, Microsoft and Alphabet — are now among the objectors. Key facts Objections to OKXICE’s tokenized stock plan rose from 50 to 56 in the platform’s November 2 public notice, per Crypto.news. 49 of the 62 companies OKXICE initially selected have objected — about 79% — while seven other objectors were outside that original list. Amazon, Tesla, SpaceX, Netflix, SoFi Technologies and Lam Research were the six latest companies to file objections. Under the SEC’s five-year innovation exemption, issuers have 30 calendar days from written notification to object; companies notified on October 4 had a deadline of November 3. PANews, citing CoinDesk, reported that OKXICE has up to five business days to publish objections filed near the deadline, meaning the count could still rise. What OKXICE is building, and how the exemption works OKXICE, also referred to in reports as OKXICE TSV, plans to offer round-the-clock trading in tokenized US equities through blockchain liquidity pools, with investors settling transactions in stablecoins. According to the venture’s regulatory disclosures, it intends to use permissioned Uniswap v4 liquidity pools deployed on OKX’s X Layer blockchain, with prices set by automated market makers rather than a conventional exchange order book. Users would need to complete identity verification, sanctions screening and wallet checks before trading. Approved wallets would receive a nontransferable credential, and each token would represent an entitlement to one share held by an authorized tokenizer through a registered broker-dealer — a structure that, under the SEC framework, must preserve the economic and shareholder rights tied to the underlying securities. The objection mechanism stems from the SEC’s five-year innovation exemption, which lets companies block an unaffiliated third party from offering tokenized versions of their shares on a specific venue. An objection does not bar the company from joining other tokenization arrangements or issuing its own tokenized securities. Applied Optoelectronics, one of the earlier objectors, reportedly raised concerns about how the arrangement could affect its share price, trading volumes and volatility, and worried investors might think it had approved a tokenized offering built without its involvement. The SEC window runs 30 calendar days from each issuer’s written notification, so objections submitted close to the cut-off may surface in later notices — a detail PANews highlighted by citing CoinDesk, while Crypto.news carried the same five-business-day disclosure provision in its account of the filing. Why it matters The objections show that some of the largest publicly traded US companies are unwilling to let their shares be wrapped and traded on a third-party venue they do not control. For retail investors, that matters because tokenized equity products aim to offer around-the-clock exposure using stablecoins, and issuer resistance can narrow the menu of names available at launch. For the tokenization sector, the dispute is testing whether the SEC’s innovation exemption gives issuers an effective veto over third-party distribution — a question that reaches beyond OKXICE. The objections also arrive as other venues pursue similar routes: a separate SEC exemption proposal from Perpetuals.com has taken a comparable path for blockchain-based US stock trading, and Securitize has introduced 12 tokenized US stocks on Solana for eligible investors, including shares linked to Apple, Nvidia, Tesla, Microsoft and Amazon. What to watch OKXICE’s next public notices will show whether objection counts climb past 56 as late filers are disclosed. Andrew Cuomo, the venture’s co-chairman and former New York governor, said at an October 30 press conference that companies largely wanted to observe how the platform operated before deciding whether to take part, adding that more would participate as familiarity with tokenization grows. Qapture Investments Launches the Qapture Safe Haven Vault (QHVN-USD) — Institutional-Grade Stable...BitcoinWorldQapture Investments Launches the Qapture Safe Haven Vault (QHVN-USD) — Institutional-Grade Stablecoin Yield, Delivered On-Chain Digital asset management pioneer launches institutional-grade stablecoin yield strategy designed for risk-conscious investors, delivered on-chain HAMILTON, Bermuda, Nov. 4, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Qapture Investments Ltd., a Bermuda-based digital asset management firm led by Frederick Pye, founder of 3iQ Corp., today announced the launch of the Qapture Safe Haven Vault (QHVN-USD), a strategy managed by Qapture Investments (BVI) Ltd. QHVN-USD gives qualified high-net-worth, professional and institutional investors a new way to earn a return on their USD-backed stablecoin holdings, available through Qapture’s vault platform or, for eligible U.S. clients, through an SEC-registered investment adviser. With over a three-year track record, the QHVN-USD strategy seeks to generate consistent returns by providing liquidity to stablecoin liquidity pools in decentralized finance (DeFi), powering how people swap digital assets in a decentralized way. It is designed to serve as an income strategy for treasuries and risk-conscious investors, investing in liquidity positions in major USD stablecoin pairs on established DeFi protocols, within defined risk limits. “DeFi needs regulated, professionally managed investment products for greater investor adoption. To address this, we started QHVN-USD to bring the optimal strategy to investors — an attractive risk-conscious yield product built on high-quality USD stablecoins. Now we’re bringing it to investors in the right way: a low-friction, easy-to-access wrapper, simplifying access to institutional-grade DeFi yield,” said Brendan MacNeil, Head of DeFi at Qapture. Qapture Vaults QHVN-USD is offered through a new category of investment technology – a vault. The QHVN-USD Vault combines the operational efficiency of DeFi with the governance standards and compliance framework required by regulated investment managers. The first QHVN-USD Vault is offered as a separately managed account (SMA) under an investment management agreement with Qapture Investments (BVI) Ltd., accessed through Qapture’s new vault platform. A vault is a set of smart contracts through which Qapture manages assets on behalf of investors, according to a defined strategy. Investors can see what the vault holds and how it’s performing at all times, but they don’t manage it themselves; the strategy runs under detailed rules that can’t be changed without investor knowledge. The investor’s holdings are calculated and published daily. Qapture cannot move investor assets on its own or send them outside an approved list of addresses. Investors can request a withdrawal at any time, processed under the redemption terms of their investment management agreement. QHVN-USD is the first offering on Qapture Vaults, a simple platform where Qapture will bring future strategies to market on-chain. The Qapture Vaults platform runs users through a KYC/KYB onboarding flow, and access to products is only available to verified eligible investors. The platform is where Qapture will deliver institutional-grade strategies on-chain, as it aims to become a global on-chain investment management platform. “As our first vault offering, QHVN-USD sets our standard for risk-managed on-chain yield,” said Daniel Pye, President of Qapture. “Institutional investors moving on-chain need a flight to quality — a baseline above idle stablecoin holdings. Every strategy we bring to Qapture Vaults from here builds on the same standard of compliance and risk management, giving institutions and qualified investors a professionally managed platform to put on-chain treasuries and capital to work.” How QHVN-USD Vault is used QHVN-USD was designed for three types of eligible investors: Family Offices & High-Net-Worth Investors. For investors new to digital assets, QHVN-USD is designed as a risk-conscious yield source for an income portfolio. For DeFi-native investors, QHVN-USD is a place to park USD-stablecoins between opportunities and earn a competitive return, without managing on-chain positions manually. Treasuries and Institutional Investors. For treasuries and funds sitting on idle stablecoin reserves, QHVN-USD offers highly liquid institutional-grade DeFi yield for a portion of those reserves or for pod allocations. Platforms and Earn programs. For regulated fintech and Web3 platforms that want to offer their users a way to earn on their stablecoin holdings, where their own licences or registrations and applicable law permit it, offering DeFi yield as a new income-generating opportunity. U.S. Access through an SEC-Registered Investment Adviser QHVN-USD launches in collaboration with Protocol Wealth, which may make the strategy available to its eligible advisory clients in the United States. Protocol Wealth, LLC is a Denver-based SEC-registered Investment Adviser (RIA). Through its advisory platform, Protocol Wealth will evaluate QHVN-USD for clients seeking stablecoin yield exposure, subject to its standard suitability and diligence process, making Protocol Wealth one of the first RIAs to bring an on-chain vault to its clients, offered within the trusted advisory relationship they already have. “U.S. investors are increasingly seeking access to on-chain strategies, but they need structures that align with institutional standards. Our collaboration with Qapture allows us to evaluate QHVN-USD for eligible clients and, where appropriate, provide access within an SEC-registered advisory relationship,” said Jason Leupold, Chief Investment Officer, Protocol Wealth. Institutional Infrastructure QHVN-USD is backed by a multi-layered institutional infrastructure stack: Vault Technology — Midas & 1Token Midas (Aegis Labs) provides the white-label vault infrastructure powering QHVN, including token issuance, Oracle-based NAV pricing, and mint/redeem mechanics. Midas’s platform supports over US$1 billion in assets across various institutional vault products and a total of over US$4B in total assets minted. 1Token provides the institutional-grade portfolio reporting and NAV accounting system required to support QHVN’s daily NAV pricing. 1Token supports over $20B in asset monitoring globally. “Transparency is critical for institutional on-chain vaults, but the data behind a strategy often spans both on-chain and off-chain sources. 1Token helps Qapture bring that data together into a consistent portfolio accounting and NAV framework, supporting reliable daily vault pricing and investor reporting. This gives investors a clearer view of how the strategy is performing and gives managers the infrastructure to operate institutional-grade DeFi products at scale,” said Damon Xu, Co-Founder and CEO of 1Token. MPC Wallet Infrastructure — Fordefi The vault is built on Fordefi’s institutional-grade MPC wallet platform, using multi-party computation to protect investor funds and a policy engine that enforces how assets can move within the strategy mandate. Fordefi secures more than $64 billion in monthly transaction volume for over 350 institutions. “Institutional adoption of on-chain vaults requires more than secure wallet technology. It requires clear transaction intent, enforceable policies, and governance that can scale across organizations. Fordefi’s MPC infrastructure, policy engine, and approval groups allow QHVN-USD to maintain clear custody boundaries while ensuring sensitive actions are reviewed by the appropriate quorum. This combination of self-custody, control, and operational clarity gives institutions the foundation they need to execute on-chain strategies at scale,” said Josh Schwartz, co-founder and CEO at Fordefi. Disaster Recovery & Key Management — Nemean Services Nemean Services serves as a Trusted Third Party holding backup key material for the vault’s disaster recovery process, designed to help restore access to investor assets in adverse events. “Institutional digital asset infrastructure cannot rely on a single organization, system or individual remaining available at all times. True resilience requires an independent recovery layer that sits outside the day-to-day operational environment. Nemean provides that layer for QHVN, securely protecting the recovery capability and ensuring that, should the unexpected happen, there is a robust and independently controlled path to restore access to investor assets. Combining strong primary wallet security with independent disaster recovery creates the multi-party resilience institutions should expect from on-chain financial products,” said Oliver Cummings, COO, Nemean Services. Real-Time Risk Monitoring — HypernativeHypernative provides real-time monitoring and threat detection across the vault’s on-chain activity and underlying protocols, helping Qapture identify emerging risks and respond rapidly to potential security incidents. “Institutions evaluating on-chain yield are no longer asking whether DeFi works. Digital asset management pioneer launches institutional-grade stablecoin yield strategy designed for risk-conscious investors, delivered on-chain
HAMILTON, Bermuda, Nov.
Qapture Vaults
QHVN-USD is offered through a new category of investment technology – a vault.
Every strategy we bring to Qapture Vaults from here builds on the same standard of compliance and risk management, giving institutions and qualified investors a professionally managed platform to put on-chain treasuries and capital to work.”
How QHVN-USD Vault is used
QHVN-USD was designed for three types of eligible investors:
Family Offices & High-Net-Worth Investors.
U.S. Access through an SEC-Registered Investment Adviser
QHVN-USD launches in collaboration with Protocol Wealth, which may make the strategy available to its eligible advisory clients in the United States.
Institutional Infrastructure
QHVN-USD is backed by a multi-layered institutional infrastructure stack:
Vault Technology — Midas & 1Token
Midas (Aegis Labs) provides the white-label vault infrastructure powering QHVN, including token issuance, Oracle-based NAV pricing, and mint/redeem mechanics.
MPC Wallet Infrastructure — Fordefi
The vault is built on Fordefi’s institutional-grade MPC wallet platform, using multi-party computation to protect investor funds and a policy engine that enforces how assets can move within the strategy mandate.
Disaster Recovery & Key Management — Nemean Services
Nemean Services serves as a Trusted Third Party holding backup key material for the vault’s disaster recovery process, designed to help restore access to investor assets in adverse events.
They are asking who is watching it. Hypernative provides that layer for QHVN, monitoring vault activity and protocol-level risk continuously so Qapture’s team sees emerging threats early enough to act rather than react,” said Gal Sagie, Co-Founder & CEO at Hypernative.

Eventus International Announces Inaugural IGaming Talent & Career Summit 2027 Amid Industry Layof...BitcoinWorldEventus International Announces Inaugural iGaming Talent & Career Summit 2027 Amid Industry Layoffs and Workforce Transformation New Malta summit to bring industry leaders, employers and professionals together as rising costs, regulatory pressures and AI reshape the future of work in iGaming. Against a backdrop of layoffs, corporate restructuring and growing workforce uncertainty across the iGaming and online betting industry, Eventus International has announced the launch of the inaugural iGaming Talent & Career Summit 2027, taking place on 8 – 9 April 2027 in St. Julian’s, Malta, under the theme “Where Change Creates Opportunity.” The announcement comes as operators and gaming businesses face increasing pressure from higher taxes, evolving regulatory requirements, industry consolidation and the accelerating adoption of artificial intelligence. As companies reassess their operations and workforce strategies, experienced professionals are confronting an increasingly uncertain employment landscape, raising important questions about job security, future skills and career opportunities. While these changes present challenges, they are also reshaping how businesses operate, creating demand for new capabilities and opening opportunities for professionals willing to adapt. Yet, despite the industry’s continued focus on technology, regulation and commercial growth, the impact of this transformation on its people has received comparatively little attention at major industry gatherings. Recognising this gap, Eventus International is introducing a dedicated summit that places talent, leadership and career development at the centre of the conversation. Moving beyond traditional HR and recruitment conferences, the event will bring together CEOs, founders, senior executives, commercial leaders, employers and industry professionals to examine how the sector can navigate workforce disruption while preparing for its next phase of growth. Commenting on the launch, Yudi Soetjiptadi, Founder & CEO of Eventus International, said: “We are seeing significant changes across the iGaming industry, with rising taxes, increasing regulatory pressures and the growing use of AI leading many businesses to rethink their operations and reduce their workforce. Behind these decisions are talented people facing uncertainty about their future, and we believe the industry needs to pay more attention to this. That is why we are launching the iGaming Talent & Career Summit. We want to create a dedicated platform where business leaders, employers and professionals can come together, have meaningful conversations and identify new opportunities. While the industry is going through a challenging period, we firmly believe its greatest strength remains its people. Our vision is to turn today’s uncertainty into tomorrow’s opportunities, inspiring professionals to move forward with confidence, encouraging businesses to invest in talent and bringing the industry together to build a stronger, more promising future.” The two-day summit aims to connect businesses navigating change with professionals looking to advance, adapt or reinvent their careers. With an emphasis on meaningful industry engagement and opportunities beyond the conference stage, the event seeks to encourage practical conversations and lasting connections between employers, decision makers and talent across the sector. Further details of the programme, speakers, strategic partnerships and delegate experiences will be announced in the coming months. Coinbase Stock Falls 10.6% Despite $719M Q3 ProfitBitcoinWorldCoinbase Stock Falls 10.6% Despite $719M Q3 Profit Coinbase shares fell 10.62% to close at $143.54 on October 30, 2026, the day after the exchange reported $719 million in third-quarter net income — up from $433 million a year earlier, according to Ambcrypto. The stock is down 39.31% year to date, and the gap between the profit headline and the sell-off comes down to where the money actually came from. Coinbase reported $719 million in Q3 2026 net income, but about $715 million of it came from gains on crypto investments. Revenue fell roughly 34–35% year over year, and the quarter’s filing disclosed executive trading plans covering about 13.6 million COIN shares. Key facts COIN fell 10.62% on October 30 to $143.54 and is down 39.31% in 2026 so far, per Ambcrypto. Q3 net income was $719 million versus $433 million a year earlier; adjusted net income was $78 million and adjusted EBITDA $333 million, up 60% quarter over quarter. Roughly $715 million of the profit came from gains on crypto investment holdings, while transaction revenue slid to $590 million. The Q3 filing disclosed Rule 10b5-1 plans adopted by CEO Brian Armstrong, co-founder Fred Ehrsam and President Emilie Choi, covering potential sales of about 13.6 million shares worth roughly $2.2 billion at the October 29 close. Prediction markets passed $200 million in annualized revenue, and crypto trading market share reached 10.7% — a fourth straight quarterly gain, crypto.news reported. What the earnings headline leaves out Coinbase’s net income more than doubled year over year, but the underlying operating business moved the other way. Ambcrypto reported net revenue fell 34% to about $1.16 billion, while crypto.news put the decline at 35%, to $1.22 billion, from $1.87 billion a year earlier — the two outlets differ slightly on the revenue figure. The profit itself leans heavily on one line item: about $715 million in gains on Coinbase’s own crypto holdings. Strip out investment gains and other adjustments and adjusted net income was $78 million. Revenue pressure came from the core business — transaction revenue of $590 million, down 44% year over year according to crypto.news — even as the company logged its 15th consecutive quarter of positive adjusted EBITDA. Market share is the counterweight to the weak trading numbers. Coinbase’s 10.7% share of global crypto volume rose for a fourth quarter in a row, and average USDC held across its products hit a record $22 billion. crypto.news also reported that subscription and services revenue reached $570 million, up 3% from the prior quarter and about 49% of net revenue. Three separate disclosures shaped the reaction. The first is the profit mix described above. The second is the executive trading plans in the Q3 filing. The third is a breach at third-party analytics provider Amplitude that exposed contact information for some users; Coinbase said its own systems and customer funds were unaffected. Separately, the exchange’s October 30 deadline to restrict non-compliant stablecoins under the EU’s MiCA rules pushed some European traders toward decentralized exchanges. Why it matters For retail and institutional holders, the quarter illustrates how a crypto exchange’s reported profit can be inflated by the assets on its own balance sheet rather than by customer activity. Transaction revenue and subscription revenue are the figures that track demand for the platform itself, and both fell on an annual basis. The executive trading plans add a governance angle that shareholders tend to weigh during periods of falling prices, even though such plans are typically set in advance. Coinbase remains one of the largest venues in the market, so a quarter like this shapes how investors read the health of the broader exchange sector, not just one ticker. What to watch The next data point is Coinbase’s fourth-quarter report, where the market will look at whether transaction revenue stabilizes relative to the Q3 dip and whether prediction markets keep compounding from the $200 million annualized level. Any filing amendments or updates on the disclosed 10b5-1 share sales — and any further detail on the Amplitude breach — will also draw attention. Security Incident Update #2 (2026-10-30)BitcoinWorldSecurity Incident Update #2 (2026-10-30) Fellow Binancians,  Over the past 24 hours, our teams have been working around the clock to respond to a serious security incident involving unauthorized withdrawals of funds. At around 2026-10-29 20:05 (UTC), our hot wallets were compromised, resulting in a loss of approximately $6.3B USD worth of token assets. We recognize the seriousness of this incident and the concern it has caused across our community. We are treating this as our highest priority. We have been working non-stop on security investigation, infrastructure system upgrading, fund loss prevention and recovery. In this update, we want to give a clear summary of what has been done in the last 24 hours and what we are working towards. We want to be clear about our commitment: Binance will absorb the financial impact of these stolen funds, not our users.   Protecting Our Users Our first priority is to ensure that users are protected. Binance will cover all stolen funds related to this incident through our Secure Asset Fund for Users (SAFU) and our corporate treasury. We have already set aside more than $6.34B in company funds, with $5B held in the exact impacted token assets that were stolen, such as USDC, USDT, BTC, ETH, BNB, etc. This means that we have already covered approximately 80% of the impacted amount. We are actively buying the remaining relevant token assets through market and OTC channels. We will continue to provide updates on the progress on our official channels.   What We Have Done Since identifying the incident, we have taken immediate action to contain the threat and strengthen our security posture. We have: Contained the compromised infrastructure, revoked affected authorizations and implemented additional controls to prevent further unauthorized activity. Worked with law enforcement, blockchain intelligence firms, asset issuers and industry partners to trace and freeze affected assets. Approximately $3 billion has been frozen on-chain to date. Further recovery efforts to follow. Strengthened security checks across affected infrastructure. Temporarily suspended withdrawals while conducting additional security reviews, implementing remediation measures and validating the integrity of affected systems. Deposits and other unaffected platform services remain operational. Continued working to restore withdrawal services safely.   What We Have Learned So Far Our tech and security teams are still deep in the investigations of this complex hack. Our initial investigation suggested that the incident may involve a compromised laptop, however, our subsequent investigation has uncovered additional points of breach. At this stage, we have found no evidence that wallet private keys were leaked. The investigation remains ongoing. We are working with internal and external security experts to establish the full attack sequence, identify all contributing factors and determine the appropriate measures to prevent similar incidents. We expect to share further technical findings within about 48 hours once they have been verified and their disclosure will not compromise ongoing investigative efforts.   What’s Next We are focused on four immediate priorities over the next few days: Restoring Withdrawals: The tech team targets to start resuming the withdrawal service within approximately 34 hours, subject to the completion of security checks. This will proceed on a phased approach. We will provide updates as each phase becomes available. Strengthening Transparency and Verification through the Proof of Reserves: We are buying the remaining 20% of the lost token assets. We plan to run an initial Proof Of Reserves snapshot in 12 hours and have the result ready by Monday 2026-11-02. These reports will provide users with an updated view of platform asset holdings and the corresponding backing of user balances. So you can verify for yourself of the latest account balances on our platform. Recovering the frozen stolen funds: We are working with law enforcement, blockchain intelligence firms, token issuers and other exchanges to trace and recover stolen funds. We will pursue all available avenues to identify those responsible and hold them accountable. Publishing an incident post mortem report: We are conducting a full security review and we will provide a detailed technical report outlining what happened, the lessons learned and the additional safeguards being implemented.   Our Commitment We take full responsibility for addressing this security incident, strengthening our security infrastructure, and ensuring our users are protected. Fellow Binancians,
Over the past 24 hours, our teams have been working around the clock to respond to a serious security incident involving unauthorized withdrawals of funds. At around 2026-10-29 20:05 (UTC), our hot wallets were compromised, resulting in a loss of approximately $6.3B USD worth of token assets.

GoMining Cuts Instant Funds Fees, Making Stablecoin Access Cheaper for Bitcoin Holders and MinersBitcoinWorldGoMining Cuts Instant Funds Fees, Making Stablecoin Access Cheaper for Bitcoin Holders and Miners Bitcoin mining platform GoMining has reduced fees for its Instant Funds service, allowing users to access stablecoin liquidity using Bitcoin or digital miners as collateral without selling their assets. The updated fee structure lowers the maximum service fee from 2.5% to 2%, while the minimum remains at 1.5%, depending on a user’s VIP status. The new rates take effect immediately for new positions and will also apply to existing positions when they automatically renew. The move is aimed at making short-term liquidity more affordable for Bitcoin holders and mining participants who want access to funds while maintaining exposure to their underlying assets. Accessing Stablecoins Without Selling Bitcoin Instant Funds allows GoMining users to obtain USDT or USDC by pledging Bitcoin or digital miners as collateral. Rather than liquidating their holdings to access cash-equivalent digital assets, users can retain ownership of their collateral while receiving stablecoins for other purposes. The service operates on 30-day terms with automatic renewal. A one-time service fee applies to each term, with rates determined by the user’s VIP level. Under the revised pricing, fees range between 1.5% and 2%, compared with the previous range of 1.5% to 2.5%. Importantly, the reduction is not limited to new customers. Existing Instant Funds users will automatically receive the updated pricing when their current positions renew, without needing to close and reopen them. The change comes as crypto platforms continue developing ways for digital asset holders to access liquidity without selling their investments. Mining Hashrate as Collateral One of Instant Funds’ distinguishing features is its support for Bitcoin mining hashrate as collateral, rather than relying exclusively on conventional cryptocurrencies. GoMining’s digital miners represent mining power backed by physical Bitcoin mining equipment. These assets generate daily Bitcoin rewards, providing users with ongoing exposure to mining activity without requiring them to operate hardware themselves. Through Instant Funds, users can pledge their digital miners to access stablecoins while the underlying mining activity continues. Unlike arrangements that require users to give up an income-generating asset, digital miners used as collateral continue producing Bitcoin rewards, which accrue to their owners throughout the position’s term. Users who pledge digital miners can access up to 30% of their value, with positions starting at just $5. According to GoMining, stablecoins are typically credited to a user’s account balance in approximately one minute. This model provides an additional use case for tokenized mining power, allowing users to unlock liquidity from their mining assets while preserving their ongoing Bitcoin rewards. “Bitcoin hashrate produces value every day, and we believe it should also give its owners flexibility when they need it. With Instant Funds, users can access stablecoins without selling their miners or interrupting their mining. Lowering the fee makes that option more accessible, for new users and for everyone already using the feature,” said Vitalii Dudik, General Manager of Money Services at GoMining. Expanding Financial Utility for Bitcoin Miners The fee reduction reflects GoMining’s broader efforts to expand the financial utility of Bitcoin and digital mining assets beyond traditional mining rewards. By combining Bitcoin-backed liquidity with collateralized mining power, Instant Funds offers users an alternative to selling their holdings when they need short-term access to stablecoins. The lower fees may be particularly relevant for users who regularly renew their positions, as the reduced pricing applies to each new 30-day term. However, the service is not without risks. Collateral pledged through Instant Funds may be subject to liquidation, and the applicable conditions differ depending on whether users provide Bitcoin or digital miners as collateral. Users should review the service’s Terms of Use, including liquidation conditions and renewal fees, before opening a position. Instant Funds is available through the GoMining app in supported regions, with the revised fee structure now applying to new positions and upcoming renewals. Eventus International Announces Oslo As Host City for 9th Annual Scandinavian & Nordic Gaming Sho...BitcoinWorldEventus International Announces Oslo as Host City for 9th Annual Scandinavian & Nordic Gaming Show in October 2027 The conference will make its debut in Norway on 21 and 22 October 2027, marking the next stage in its regional expansion following eight editions hosted in Sweden and Denmark. Eventus International, an international organiser of C-suite gaming and iGaming industry conferences, has announced that the 9th annual Scandinavian & Nordic Gaming Show (SNGS) will take place in Oslo, Norway, on 21 and 22 October 2027. The announcement follows the conclusion of the event’s eighth annual edition and marks the first time the conference will be held in Norway. Since its launch in Sweden, SNGS has rotated between Sweden and Denmark, bringing together gaming operators, regulators, technology providers, industry associations, and other stakeholders to examine developments affecting the Nordic gaming sector. The move to Oslo reflects Eventus International’s strategy to broaden the conference’s regional reach while maintaining its focus on regulatory developments, market trends, technological innovation, and commercial opportunities across the Nordic gaming industry. Norway’s distinct gambling regulatory framework is expected to feature prominently in discussions, alongside developments in Sweden, Denmark and other European markets. The conference will provide a forum for examining the implications of regulatory changes, responsible gambling requirements, emerging technologies, and evolving business models. “Over the past eight years, the Scandinavian & Nordic Gaming Show has developed into a platform for industry dialogue and business engagement across the Nordic region”, said a spokesperson for Eventus International. “Bringing the ninth edition to Oslo represents a natural progression for the event. Norway plays an important role in the wider Nordic gaming landscape, and we see an opportunity to bring together regional and international stakeholders to exchange perspectives, address industry challenges and explore future developments.” The 2027 conference is expected to address key issues including gambling regulation and compliance, responsible gambling, player protection, artificial intelligence, payments technology, digital transformation, and international market developments. Oslo’s established business infrastructure, international connectivity and conference facilities were among the considerations behind the selection of the Norwegian capital. The city also offers opportunities for networking and business engagement beyond the formal conference programme. The decision to expand into Norway follows eight editions in Sweden and Denmark, reflecting Eventus International’s intention to strengthen the conference’s Nordic presence and attract participation from a broader international audience. “Each edition of SNGS has contributed to the development of a network of industry participants across the region”, the spokesperson added. “Our objective for Oslo is to build on that foundation while introducing new perspectives and creating further opportunities for collaboration.” Carl Fredrik Stenstrøm, Chairman of the Norwegian Online Gaming Association (NBO), shared: “Bringing the Scandinavian & Nordic Gaming Show to Oslo in 2027 could not have come at a better time. With Finland opening its gambling market, Norway is now the last Nordic country holding on to a gambling monopoly. I strongly believe Norway will be the next to embrace a licensing system, and the momentum for change is growing. The Nordic gaming industry is entering an exciting new chapter, and Oslo is the perfect place to discuss its future. As Chairman of the Norwegian Online Gaming Association (NBO), I look forward to welcoming the industry to Norway – hopefully as we move closer to ending the Norwegian gambling monopoly.” Commenting on the move to Oslo, Mikkel Taanum (Counsel | Advokat, Two Birds) stated: “After eight editions alternating between Stockholm and Copenhagen, Oslo is in my opinion the natural next step, bringing a fresh Nordic perspective and new connections to an established event. Hosting the ninth edition in Norway will reinforce the show’s ambition to be a truly – and one of a kind – pan-Nordic meeting place for the gaming industry.” Offering a broader industry perspective, Margarita Cruz (Director & Founder, Diamond28 Consulting Limited) added: “Exciting times ahead for the Nordic gaming industry in 2027! Bringing the 9th edition of the Scandinavian & Nordic Gaming Show (SNGS) to Oslo offers a unique opportunity to examine the region’s evolving gaming landscape from a fresh, balanced and independent perspective. With Finland’s upcoming regulatory reforms and significant developments across the Nordic markets, Oslo provides an ideal setting to bring industry leaders, regulators and stakeholders together to explore how these changes will reshape regulatory frameworks, market competitiveness, innovation and the wider gaming ecosystem. The Nordics continue to set important benchmarks for Europe, and 2027 promises to be a defining year for the region’s future!” Finally, rounding out the feedback, Hayley Joseph (Business Development Manager at Amusnet Gaming) commented: “The Eventus team brings the brains, the buzz and a whole lot of personality! They bring the right people together, turn conversations into connections and make business feel like the place to be. Serious talent. Seriously good vibes!” The 9th annual Scandinavian & Nordic Gaming Show will be held in Oslo on 21 and 22 October 2027. Details regarding the venue, conference programme, speakers, sponsorship opportunities and registration will be announced in due course.  END   This post Eventus International Announces Oslo as Host City for 9th Annual Scandinavian & Nordic Gaming Show in October 2027 first appeared on BitcoinWorld.

Security Incident UpdateBitcoinWorldSecurity Incident Update Fellow Binancians, Binance’s initial investigation suggests that the security incident may involve a compromised DevOps engineer’s laptop, which allowed an attacker to gain access to a service container and submit unauthorized withdrawal transactions. We have found no evidence of any wallet private key leak. We will share a detailed technical post-mortem once the investigation is complete and the facts are fully verified. The estimated total impact sits at around $6.3B. Coinbase is notifying affected customers and regulatory agencies in line with its legal obligations, but has not disclosed how many users were affected or which contact details were exposed. SlowMist chief information security officer “23pds” claimed hackers obtained contact information belonging to more than 70,000 users. Separately, South Korea’s Bithumb detected abnormal access to its in-house mobile groupware system on October 27, with some customer personal data reportedly leaked the following day. What Coinbase has and hasn’t said Coinbase’s support account addressed the incident directly on X, asserting that the exchange itself had not been breached. The company did not say when the Amplitude incident occurred, what kinds of contact data were involved, or which other Amplitude customers were affected. Amplitude had not issued a public statement on how the breach occurred as of the reports. Cointelegraph said it contacted Coinbase for the number of customers affected and had not received a response by publication. The gap between the two accounts is notable: Coinbase describes the exposure only in relative terms, while the 70,000-plus figure comes from an outside security researcher, not from the company. Even contact-only data carries risk. Exposed email addresses and phone numbers give attackers material for phishing and social engineering, particularly when messages imitate a brand customers already trust. This is not Coinbase’s first data incident. In May 2025, the exchange disclosed a breach in which cybercriminals bribed overseas customer support agents to steal personal data, and it refused a $20 million ransom demand in favor of a $20 million bounty for information leading to the attackers’ arrest. A later filing with the Maine attorney general put that count at 69,461 customers, with names, addresses, masked Social Security numbers and government ID images exposed. Coinbase estimated reimbursement and remediation costs at up to $400 million, Decrypt reported. The wider vendor-risk problem The Coinbase disclosure landed on the same day as other data-security reports in and around crypto. Bithumb, South Korea’s second-largest crypto exchange, was still working to determine the full scope of an incident on its internal work platform after abnormal access was detected on October 27, per Yonhap News Agency. Brokerage Daishin Securities reported a leak involving 38,490 customers, with names, email addresses and phone numbers among the exposed data, and Mirae Asset Global Investment was also affected. Third-party providers have become a recurring weak point. Hardware wallet maker Trezor said a breach at shipping provider ShipMonk exposed the names, phone numbers and home addresses of 67,000 U.S. customers, on top of nearly 14,000 disclosed earlier — some records dating to 2019, years after ShipMonk had told Trezor they were deleted. Trezor also warned in September about a phishing email tied to a third-party provider that falsely claimed an STM32 microcontroller flaw could put wallet recovery phrases at risk; the company said it took down the phishing domain. Why it matters For individual customers, the practical concern is not the exchange’s balance sheet but the inbox and the phone. A message that names a real exchange and arrives on a real registered address is far harder to dismiss, and stolen contact records stay useful for years because people rarely change numbers or move. For Coinbase, the episode is a test of how it handles a smaller, more contained event than the 2025 breach, which cost it up to $400 million in estimated remediation. Vendors such as analytics providers often sit outside the perimeter a company monitors most closely, yet they handle exactly the customer identifiers attackers want. How quickly Amplitude explains the incident, and how precisely Coinbase scopes the affected group, will shape whether this reads as a contained vendor issue or a broader lapse. What to watch Amplitude has yet to publish a public account of how the breach happened, and Coinbase has not given a customer count. Bithumb is still determining how many customers were affected and which details were exposed, making further disclosures from Seoul the next concrete data point in this cluster of incidents.
