As per the structure, investors were asked to invest a predefined amount, which came with the assurance of payments three times a week
For a while, they did pay some people. But then, POOF! No more money.

People put money into it, hoping to get more back.
They got paid 3 days a week, but then the money stopped.
Some got extra money for bringing in new friends.
