According to Shenchao TechFlow, the Associated Press and OpenAI have reached a cooperation agreement, authorizing OpenAI to use some text files, and the Associated Press will utilize OpenAI’s technology and product expertise. The Associated Press becomes the first major media outlet to reach a fee agreement with a major AI platform.
According to people familiar with the matter, News Corp, which includes the Wall Street Journal, the Times of London and the New York Post, has begun to evaluate the value of its own content for AI training, and the results may affect negotiations with companies such as Google and Microsoft. News Corp is also trying to use blockchain technology to protect intellectual property by tagging individual content to detect whether AI companies are using its content without permission, and may plan to collect licensing fees.
