The Government of Laos held the first Ministerial Conference on Digital Transformation Blockchain 4.0 in the capital, Vientiane.
The conference outlined several goals for the development of Laos' digital economy, including using digital technologies to generate new fiscal revenues, increase foreign exchange reserves, curb inflation, promote sustainable economic growth, improve living standards and improve international competitiveness in the short term. In addition, the event proposed the creation of a Blockchain Technology Transformation Committee, responsible for enforcing legislation and developing legislation related to the digital economy.
During the conference, Laotian Prime Minister Sonexai Sipandone emphasized the importance of integrating blockchain technology into various government processes and its widespread use for administration and government services.
