POAP will charge the badge issuer

Since its launch in 2019, POAP has gradually become a standard configuration for blockchain activities, and POAP's chief operating officer Isabel recently announced the introduction of commercial use terms at the governance forum, which means that the use of POAP is no longer completely free, and the current proposed The charging rules are as follows:

  1. POAP will continue to be free for personal use, with costs subsidized by the POAP company.

  2. Issuers who issue a large number of POAP badges for commercial purposes will be charged a fee. Please see here for the detailed definition of commercial purposes. Most of them are public entertainment events with more than 200 people.

  3. Issuers who have used POAP independently in the past can choose commercial pricing before 5/31, and can enjoy a price discount of US$25 for 100 POAPs before 12/31 this year.

The exact charging plan has not yet been finalized, but it can at least be determined that excessive abuse of POAP in the future will require a certain cost, and issuers need to better control the number of participants in the event to avoid losses.
