Wu Shuo learned that Circle has announced that its affiliated service platform, Circle Mint, has launched a digital asset collateralized borrowing and lending (DABB) feature. It enables eligible institutional customers to deposit BTC as collateral to borrow USDC on the Arc and Ethereum networks. Users can deposit BTC, mint cirBTC supported 1:1 by native BTC, and use it as collateral through third-party lending markets. The borrowed USDC will be sent directly to the Circle Mint account. The service’s first batch will integrate with the decentralized lending protocol Morpho, with plans to support other protocols such as Aave in the future. Loan interest rates, collateral requirements, and liquidation thresholds are determined by third-party markets.
