Suspected of violating privacy regulations! World Coin’s six major locations in Hong Kong were searched
According to HK01 reports, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Hong Kong today raided six locations in Hong Kong of the cryptocurrency project "Worldcoin" and required the operators to hand over relevant documents and information.
This action was based on concerns that "World Coin" was suspected of violating privacy regulations, especially in the collection and processing of sensitive personal information. Although the PCPD has not received any complaints about "World Coin" so far, the purpose of this search is to "protect citizens' privacy."
The "World Coin" project involves the use of World ID, a verification system based on personal identity characteristics, and requires participants to provide iris information through an iris scanning device to obtain identification and free cryptocurrency.
