According to PANews, the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) Global Markets Advisory Committee voted to approve a digital asset classification law at its meeting on Wednesday, which is currently awaiting review by the CFTC.

The taxonomy aims to establish standardized terminology to improve regulatory clarity and help draft future legislation and regulations, covering digital assets, central bank digital currencies, stablecoins, etc. The approach builds on the work done by global standard setters such as the Financial Stability Board.
