According to Foresight News, Hong Kong has launched an investigation into Worldcoin for allegedly illegally collecting customer iris data. Based on a court warrant, the Hong Kong Department searched six locations of Worldcoin in Yau Ma Tei, Kwun Tong, Wan Chai, Cyberport, Central and Causeway Bay. The Hong Kong Office pointed out that the company's scanning and collecting of iris information of people participating in the Worldcoin project may involve violations of the provisions of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance. The Hong Kong Office called on the public to be vigilant and not to casually provide sensitive biometric information.
