Today's currency price October 10: Bitcoin returns to nearly $60,000, and altcoins suffer losses

U.S. stock index futures were almost flat on Wednesday night, with investors focusing on the September Consumer Price Index report.

Dow Jones futures were basically flat. S&P 500 futures fell 0.03%, and Nasdaq 100 futures fell 0.04%.

The S&P 500 and Dow Jones closed at new highs on Wednesday. The composite index rose 0.71%, a record high, while the 30-stock Dow rose more than 400 points, a gain of 1%. Large technology stocks rose sharply, driving the Nasdaq Composite Index up 0.6%.

Investors will pay close attention to the September CPI report expected to be released on Thursday, looking for signs of slowing inflation. Economists surveyed by Dow Jones expect a 0.1% increase from the previous month and a 2.3% increase from the previous year.

The results will also affect the subsequent decisions of the Federal Reserve's November meeting. CME Group's FedWatch tool shows that the probability of a 25 basis point rate cut is about 70%.

Stephanie Roth, chief economist at Wolfe Research, said a 50 basis point rate cut was "impossible" and the question now is whether the Fed will cut rates by 25 basis points in November or keep them unchanged.

Other economic data are expected to be released, including weekly initial jobless claims.

BTC continued its downward trend, falling to around $60,000, despite the Fed's dovish stance in the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) minutes released on October 9.

The FOMC minutes showed that "most" participants supported a 50 basis point rate cut this year, bringing interest rates to a range of 4.75%-5%.

A minority agreed to a smaller rate cut of 25 basis points, fearing that a large cut might be seen as premature.

In addition, they stressed that this adjustment would help maintain the strength of the economy and the job market while continuing to work towards the 2% inflation target.

After hitting a local low of $60,300 that day, BTC rebounded slightly to around $60,700, down more than 2.5% in 24 hours. $BTC #CPI&PPI来袭,美国通胀升还降? #Btcoin
