According to TechFlow, Tether has officially announced the appointment of Paolo Ardoino as its new CEO. Ardoino will replace Jean-Louis van der Velde (JL), who will continue to serve as CEO of Bitfinex, from December 2023.
Ardoino will continue to serve as CTO of Bitfinex and Chief Strategy Officer of Holepunch.
It is reported that Ardoino's journey in the cryptocurrency industry began in 2014 when he joined Bitfinex. At Bitfinex, Ardoino played a key role in enhancing the platform's Bitcoin trading capabilities and was recognized for his deep understanding of blockchain technology.
In 2017, Ardoino became the Chief Technology Officer of Tether, one of the leading stablecoin providers. At Tether, Ardoino continues to demonstrate his outstanding ability to innovate, drive innovation and expand business areas. The strategy he co-led has led to a significant increase in Tether's market share and market value, which currently stands at $83 billion, consolidating Tether's strong position in the global stablecoin space.
