Bitcoin Miners Scoop Up BTC Double

Marathon Digital, one of the major players in the industry, reported an impressive production of 1,242 Bitcoins in September, a marked increase of 16 percent compared to the 1,072 Bitcoins they produced in August.

The main factors behind this surge in production are increased uptime and decreased reduction activity in the state of Texas. Marathon Digital has mined a total of 8,610 BTC throughout 2023.

Riot Platforms also saw an increase in production, mining 362 Bitcoins in September, an 8 percent increase compared to the 333 Bitcoins mined in August.

The company attributed some of the challenges it faced, including production cuts on peak demand days, to the scorching summer conditions in Texas.

CleanSpark reported mining 643 Bitcoins in September, although this was a small decrease from the 659 Bitcoins produced in August.

However, during the current fiscal year (October 2022-September 2023), CleanSpark has mined a total of 6,903 Bitcoins.

Cipher Mining, another player in the industry, saw a 16 percent increase in production, mining 416 Bitcoins in September compared to 357 Bitcoins in August.

Additionally, the company completed construction of its Odessa facility in September and achieved its third-quarter target of 7.2 EH/s of Bitcoin mining.

Bitfarms reported mining 411 Bitcoins in September, up from 383 Bitcoins in August.

Although the company missed its third-quarter target of 6.3 EH/s, it managed to increase its operational capacity by 24 percent over the year.

Hut 8 recorded a remarkable surge in production, mining 277 Bitcoins in September compared to just 103 Bitcoins in August, marking a 2.5-fold increase in production in a month.

However, the company noted that energy price fluctuations due to warm summers and global energy supply chain challenges led to operational reductions.

Bit Digital saw a slight decline in production, mining 130.2 Bitcoins in September, down 7 percent from the 139.9 Bitcoins produced in August.

Lastly, Terawulf reported mining 329 Bitcoins in September, nearly identical to the 330 Bitcoins mined in August.

AMB Crypto reports that most Bitcoin miners performed better in September compared to August, despite facing various challenges.

In terms of Bitcoin's performance on the trading charts, it recently surged above US$28,000 on October 2, reaching its highest level in more than a month.

Currently, BTC is up around 70 percent for the year, showing a strong recovery. However, it is important to remember that Bitcoin is still more than 50 percent below its all-time high (ATH).
