On October 2, nine Ethereum futures ETFs were launched. Five of these ETFs track $ETH futures contracts, while the other four are hybrid products that track both $BTC and $ETH futures contracts.

The combined volume of these $ETH futures ETFs on their first day of trading totaled just under $2 million. The largest fund, the Proshares Ether Strategy ETF, saw $878,560 in volume.

The first-day volumes of these $ETH futures ETFs pale in comparison to the first Bitcoin futures ETF, which launched in October 2021 at the height of the bull run and saw over $1 billion in first-day volume.

However, Bloomberg analyst Eric Balchunas noted that the volumes of these $ETH futures ETFs are actually “significant” compared to ETF launches in the traditional finance space.
