Picture this: the same week retail traders were waiting for a better entry, BlackRock was already loading the truck with Bitcoin and Ethereum.
The real pain is missing these institutional signals and then FOMO-ing in at worse prices. Plenty of people lose money simply because they cannot tell when the smart money is accumulating versus when it is time to take chips off the table.
This week's data shows BlackRock ETFs purchased $117.4 million of
$BTC and $57.8 million of
$ETH . Bitcoin spot ETFs overall pulled in $986.85 million, a number that dwarfs some of the quieter weeks we saw right after the initial ETF launches last year.
It is worth comparing this to the 2021 cycle, when companies like MicroStrategy made headlines with large
$BTC buys that eventually preceded a massive run, yet also left latecomers underwater when sentiment flipped. This time the ETF structure makes the buying more consistent and transparent, unlike some competing projects that still rely on hype rather than actual traditional finance inflows.
We can learn that tracking these specific numbers often gives a better read on trend sustainability than watching social media sentiment alone.
What's your take on whether these inflows mark the start of another leg up?
