🇮🇳 Where’s the crypto crowd heading in November? Mumbai is about to become “Ethereum City”
The Ethereum Foundation’s developer conference, Devcon 8, is set for November 3–6 at the Jio World Centre in Mumbai. The previous edition was in Bangkok; this time it’s coming to India, just around Diwali.
There’s even more happening throughout the week:
🔹 October 24: ETHMumbai’s Road to Devcon warm-up event
🔹 November 1–2: India Blockchain Week
🔹 November 2: Solana Summit, Cypherpunk Congress, and Onchain Legal Summit
🔹 November 5: Unchained Summit
🔹 November 6–8: ETHGlobal Mumbai hackathon
Devcon itself will feature 14 community hubs, with topics including privacy and prediction markets. There’s also a dedicated Agents Hub, where someone will talk about “x402 beyond USDC” and demonstrate signed payments that give AI agents limited budgets and task-specific permissions. On the security track, HackenProof’s CEO will discuss how security teams can share evidence and avoid investigating the same suspicious wallet more than once. Discounted tickets are available for local Indian residents, students, and contributors.
My take: Ethereum is holding its most important developer conference in India because of its huge engineering community, not token prices. Even the Solana Summit is happening during the same week, which shows that everyone is really competing for developers. What’s truly worth watching is what happens afterward: which of AI agent payments, privacy, or prediction markets will make the leap from the stage to mainnet?
Which track do you think this Devcon is most likely to bring into the spotlight: AI agent payments, privacy, or prediction markets?
