There are two spreads in Venezuelan P2P today, and confusing them can be costly. 👀
This morning’s numbers: buying $USDT in the digital street is at Bs. 969,86 and selling at Bs. 930,19. That results in a Bs. 39,67 spread, a 4,26% difference between the best offer on each side. There are 215 active offers.
But when you open the Binance book, the picture changes: there are buy orders near Bs. 958,80 and sell orders near Bs. 956,31. Here the distance is only 0,26%.
Why is there that difference? Because one thing is the price at which people POST and another very different one is the price at which people TAKE. The 4,26% is the theoretical ceiling of the ads; the order book is where trades truly get executed.

Bs. 61.07. That’s the toll someone paid today who needed to get out of bolívares in the P2P. And that’s not a minor detail. 💡
We kicked off this Wednesday, September 16, with a market that doesn’t turn off: 178 active offers, buying USDT at Bs. 983.37 and selling at Bs. 922.29. In other words: a 6.62% spread. The buyer pays the premium; the seller bears it.

Every time the order book goes past 170 listings, the reading is double. On one hand, there is liquidity: whoever wants to trade finds a counterparty quickly. On the other, so much combined supply shows that many people are looking for refuge in digital dollars, while the demand for bolívares is split among a few buyers.

Bs. 976,66 to buy and Bs. 935,66 to sell $USDT. That’s today’s board, Tuesday, September 15, with 226 active offers on Binance P2P. And even though the number catches your eye, the most expensive mistake is almost never there: it’s in the click you make without checking.

The numbers from this morning: buy of $USDT for Bs. 963,73, sell for Bs. 915,81. That leaves a spread of Bs. 47,91, equivalent to 5,23%. And there are 225 active offers right now. These aren’t decorative figures: they’re the entry and exit price of your liquidity.
A lot of people write to me thinking that the spread is "Binance’s commission." It isn’t. The spread is the distance between what someone pays to enter and what another person accepts when exiting. If you buy and sell the same day at the screen price, you absorb that difference. It’s the market’s invisible toll, and it doesn’t show up on any receipt.

There are 240 active offers on Binance P2P right now, and most people only look at the first price. That’s the mistake that ends up costing you.
