What is Lumia?
Lumia is positioned as the first next-generation blockchain to provide a comprehensive solution across the entire life cycle of real world assets (RWAs), from asset tokenization, to liquidity aggregation, and connectivity to millions of DeFi and Web3 traders. Lumia can be broken down into two segments - Lumia Chain, engineered for RWAs, and Lumia Stream, designed to bring liquidity to otherwise illiquid RWAs.
Lumia Chain combines the blockchain technology of tomorrow with global compliance tools, advanced account abstraction, and more to form the ultimate platform for institutional and retail tokenization and adoption of RWAs. Lumia Stream then combines these otherwise illiquid tokenized RWA assets like real estate, commodities, and art with traditional digital assets and injects them into the liquid decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystem, offering a unique protocol that unlocks new opportunities for investors, institutions, and developers.
Technology Behind Lumia
Lumia Chain leverages an advanced technology stack including PolygonCDK, AvailDA, private Data Availability Committee (DAC), Polygon AggLayer, HyperLane, Everclear, custom AVS, Chain Abstraction, Account Abstraction, and Intents - along with its native cross-chain liquidity module at its core, Lumia Stream, to create the optimal framework for tokenizing RWAs while providing a secure and decentralized Web3 experience that feels like Web2 for the end user.
Lumia Stream combines MEV Protection, Atomic Swap Bridge, Transmuted AMM Price Curves, and Virtual Order Books technology to effectively aggregate liquidity from centralized exchanges (CEXs), decentralized exchanges (DEXs), and RWA tokenization platforms, creating a comprehensive liquidity flow that is then accessible to traders on 1inch, Uniswap, Pancakeswap, and many other DeFi platforms frequented by millions of users.
Lumia has apparently pioneered Node Owned Liquidity, where nodes receive real yield on locked LUMIA token rewards. The locked reward liquidity is immediately available for use on Lumia Stream, generating yield in DeFi for locked assets and providing unmatched capital efficiency. This system enables Lumia Stream to efficiently handle trade volumes large enough for transacting with RWAs and other digital assets in Web3.
Orion (ORN) Token Swap and Rebranding to Lumia (LUMIA)
Lumia’s evolution is rooted in Orion Protocol’s foundation as an omni liquidity aggregator for multi-chain trading which was founded in 2018. In early 2024, a DAO vote was conducted and passed with overwhelming support to transition Orion to what Lumia is now today. The planned mainnet support, token swap, and rebrand from $ORN to $LUMIA takes place in Q4 of 2024 with mainnet support from Binance and many other top exchanges, aiming to make Lumia the most accessible RWA chain in Web3.
