You can spend the whole weekend feeling extremely motivated about trading. The real deal is still what happens Monday morning after two losses and a missed setup. Build the version of you that can handle that moment. $SYRUP $STRK $APT
If you never take risks, your account may never grow. If you never manage those risks, you may lose everything you've built.
That's the balance every trader needs to understand.
You can't expect to grow your account by being afraid of every trade. But taking risks without thinking about the downside isn't courage either. It's gambling.
I've seen traders focus so much on making money that they forget how important it is to protect what they already have.
They increase their position size after a few wins, take bigger risks when they're confident, and then give back weeks of profits in just a few bad trades.
The problem isn't taking risks. It's taking risks you can't afford.
You need to know when a setup is worth taking, how much you're willing to lose, and when it's time to walk away.
Some trades will work. Others won't. That's part of the game.
Your job isn't to avoid every loss. It's to make sure that one bad trade, or even a bad streak, doesn't knock you out of the market.
Remember, growing an account takes opportunity. Keeping that growth takes discipline.
Take calculated risks. Protect your capital. Never let greed decide how much you're willing to lose.
Because making money in trading is one skill. Keeping it is another. What's more important in trading?
One of your biggest milestones as a trader should be to develop a profitable trading system before risking serious money.
I know some traders spend years trying to get there, and that's okay.
But I think being able to trade consistently with a proven edge is a much better measure of success than making a fortune on a few lucky trades. $FIL $NEAR $ENA
I spent years making the same mistakes until I finally realized the problem wasn’t that I needed more strategies. I needed to find an edge, study it, collect the data, and learn how to execute it consistently.
You can’t build consistency when you keep changing the rules. Sometimes, the biggest step forward in trading is realizing that you’re the one getting in your own way. It took me years to learn that lesson $STRK $NEAR $APT
$S False expectations have arisen regarding trading; just because it is easily accessible does not mean it is easy to succeed—in fact, the number of people who lose money is disproportionately high. 🧐 $PLUME $NEAR
If you don’t take risks you’ll never grow your account, and if you don’t manage those risk you’ll never keep that growth. Trading is a game of balance. $STRK $LUMIA $CFX
Amateurs cannot grow their capital even with a 90% win rate. Professionals can grow their capital even with a 45% win rate.
Why is that?
It comes down to risk and position sizing. A 90% win rate means nothing if the losers are three or four times bigger than the winners. Pros size so the average win covers multiple losses and still leaves room to compound. Amateurs size for the dopamine of frequent green days and bleed out on the rare red ones.
