In a surprising turn of events, the attacker who allegedly tricked a user into sending $68 million worth of Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC) has returned $153,000 worth of Ether (ETH) to the victim. The attacker also sent a message agreeing to negotiate and asked for the victim's Telegram username. The victim had previously offered the attacker 10% of the stolen funds as a bounty if they returned the remaining 90%. The attack, known as "address poisoning," involved the attacker confusing the victim with transactions that appeared to be coming from the victim's account.
