ZIL shorts are starting to feel the funding bite

I just scanned Binance Futures, and something’s off with this coin.

Price is at 0.003592 USDT, up +3.0% over 24h. It’s moving higher.
But the funding rate fell from -0.0073% to -0.0096%, turning even more negative.

What does that mean? Shorts have the upper hand, but the cost of holding a short is rising. If you’re short, you’re paying to stay in the trade.

Open interest is up +8.1%. The trend: 3.4M > 3.4M > 3.4M > 3.7M. When the price couldn’t fall, nobody moved. As it rose, traders added positions with real money.

On one side, the price is rising; on the other, shorts are still adding. 24h trading volume is $6.6M, market cap is $75.7M, and there’s also a spot pair.

There’s only one conclusion: this isn’t a low-volume slide. Someone is paying the cost to bet on a direction.

Don’t stubbornly hold on to your short. Keep an eye on your holding costs and leverage.

According to the support announcement (CMS 343ad3d9) and the TechFlow 137472, in the same manner: as the project team advances the mainnet migration to the ZILEVM network, Binance will stop supporting deposits and withdrawals for the Zilliqa mainnet and instead support deposits and withdrawals for the ZILEVM network. ZIL will be migrated 1:1; mainnet deposits and withdrawals have been suspended starting 2026-08-05 01:00 UTC (09:00 Beijing time). After the migration is completed, deposits and withdrawals for ZILEVM will be opened, and there will be no further separate announcement.
