$176 million—that’s how much crypto, according to Reuters, has poured into the US midterms, with about $150.8 million of it coming from Fairshake and its PAC.
So nearly the entire amount comes from one player; the other crypto groups combined gave about $25 million. Fairshake’s main donors are Coinbase, Ripple, and Andreessen Horowitz.
For comparison, Fairshake itself spent $196 million in 2024, but over the entire cycle, while Reuters’ figures only go through October 20.
The most interesting thing isn’t the amount, but where it went: in the House, Fairshake is funding both parties, while in the Senate, it’s backing only Republicans. Reuters names the reason directly: Democrats blocked CLARITY there.
Long story short, the crypto lobby in the Senate has become partisan.
Follow me: after November 3, I’ll check how many of these bets paid off.
