#USChinaDeal 🇺🇸🇨🇳 The US-China Trade Agreement: Truce or Strategic Solution? The term #USChinaDeal refers to the series of agreements and truces reached between Washington and Beijing, primarily the Phase One of January 2020. It is not a total free trade agreement, but rather a ceasefire in the tariff war. Phase One focused on the protection of intellectual property, forced technology transfer, and a Chinese commitment to massively increase purchases of American products and services (agricultural, energy, and manufactured). However, tensions persist in key areas such as technology (semiconductors), export controls, and remaining tariffs. Current negotiations (2025) seek to extend the truce and address long-term strategic rivalry. The agreement has managed to reduce business uncertainty, but many analysts see it as a tactical and fragile solution, rather than a definitive change in the complex bilateral relationships.
