💳 Reports say Visa is in talks to acquire crypto custodian Fireblocks for around $2.5 billion (Axios). Fireblocks has officially denied a deal is in the works “at this time,” while Visa declined to comment.

🏦 The Bank of Russia has approved Sberbank and VTB to trade cryptocurrencies. Both banks have been licensed to operate as exchanges and depositories. Services for retail customers will launch in November at VTB and in December at Sberbank, with an annual limit of 300,000 rubles for non-qualified investors.

🏛 Democratic Senator Blumenthal has launched an investigation into payments made by Tether to Inksum, a company owned by Bo Hines, the former White House crypto adviser.
