BNB Chain wants to win the millisecond race, but without adding a new token.
BNB Chain has announced the technical specifications for New L1, targeting latency-sensitive on-chain trading applications, especially perp DEXs.
Notable specifications: - Target block time of 200ms - Preconfirmation in around 20ms - Transaction ordering finality under 1 second - Target of over 100,000 TPS - BNB remains the only token; no new token will be issued
The design eliminates the global mempool and reserves bandwidth for transactions that need high speed.
But these are design specifications for the devnet, not proven mainnet performance. The testnet is expected in late 2026, with mainnet targeted for 2027.
Is BNB Chain creating a real edge for perp DEXs, or has it only put forward an ambitious roadmap?
BITCOIN FALLS BELOW $80,000: IS THIS A WORRYING SIGNAL AHEAD OF FED WEEK?
Bitcoin briefly fell to $79,890 on Binance early this morning Vietnam time, before recovering to around $80,320. What stands out is not just the breached price level, but also the relatively low liquidation volume.
According to a market snapshot at 06:36 on October 26, 24-hour BTC liquidations totaled around $17.5 million, while ETH liquidations came in at around $31.4 million. These are not the levels typically seen during a major leverage flush.
What is putting pressure on BTC? First, reported on-chain data shows that retail BTC deposits to Binance over the past 30 days have risen to $10.75 billion, the highest level in six months. Meanwhile, whale deposits have fallen to around $3.8 billion. BTC deposits to exchanges may reflect an intention to prepare for trading or selling, but they do not mean that all of those BTC have been sold. This is a signal to watch, not definitive proof of exactly who is selling.
Second, spot Bitcoin ETF flows reversed sharply during the final two sessions of the previous trading week. ETFs saw net outflows of $635.6 million on October 22 and $137.9 million on October 23, totaling $773.5 million. Even so, flows for the week as a whole remained positive at around $301.2 million.
Third, the market is entering a week that includes a Fed interest rate decision. As investors await policy signals, the $80,000 level could become an important psychological test zone.
One point to note is that low liquidations do not guarantee BTC has bottomed. If prices continue to weaken without sufficiently strong spot buying, the market could still fall further without a major liquidation event.
BITCOIN HOLDS THE $80K LEVEL AFTER A MAJOR LIQUIDATION. TIME TO BE OPTIMISTIC?
After a sharp wave of liquidations, Bitcoin remained around $80.3K during the US session. This suggests the market is relatively stable, but there is not yet enough evidence to confirm a new recovery trend.
24-hour liquidation data shows: - BTC: $174.3 million, of which $153.9 million was in long positions. - ETH: $162.5 million, of which $136.7 million was in long positions. - Total BTC and ETH liquidations: approximately $336.8 million, with nearly 86% coming from long positions.
Notably, open interest remains high, at around $53.7 billion for BTC and $29.7 billion for ETH. This means that although a large amount of leverage has been wiped out, the market could still see sharp volatility if prices move quickly through key levels.
The FOMC meeting on October 27–28 is the next factor to watch. If BTC holds its support zone and forced selling continues to ease, the market may find some stability. Conversely, if the price breaks below its recent lows, the remaining leveraged positions could amplify the decline.
There is not yet enough data to confirm that institutional capital has returned to buying. The key is to monitor price action and fund flows over the next few sessions, rather than focusing on just one liquidation event.
Do you think BTC has absorbed the selling pressure, or is it just taking a breather ahead of the Fed meeting?
🚨 OVER $815M LIQUIDATED: A RECOVERY OPPORTUNITY OR A WARNING SIGN?
The crypto market has just experienced a major liquidation event. More than 118,000 traders were reportedly affected over 24 hours, most of them holding long positions.
BTC briefly fell below $80K, while ETH traded around $2,350.
What stands out?
📉 Leverage is being flushed out. As prices fall and hit liquidation levels, forced closures of long positions can add further selling pressure.
🐻 Derivatives sentiment remains cautious. Data reported on Hyperliquid shows that tracked whale accounts held 53.44% of their positions short.
₿ BTC needs to hold the $80K range. If buyers absorb the selling and prices stabilize, the market could see a recovery. If support breaks, another wave of liquidations could follow.
The key point isn’t just how much has been liquidated, but how the market reacts afterward.
Heavy liquidations can help the market shed excess leverage, but they don’t guarantee that prices have bottomed. Watch for spot buying pressure, changes in open interest, and whether key support levels hold.
Do you think the market is flushing out leverage ahead of a recovery, or is this just the start of a deeper decline?
🚨 $404 MILLION IN BTC LONG POSITIONS LIQUIDATED. IS THE DOWNTURN OVER?
Bitcoin fell to nearly $79.3K before bouncing back above $80K. But a price rebound doesn’t mean the market has bottomed.
Here’s what happened: 📉 $436.44 million in positions were liquidated in just 4 hours, including $404.15 million in long positions. 📊 Open interest fell 2.2% to $140.10 billion, suggesting leverage is being flushed out. 💸 Bitcoin spot ETFs still saw $137.9 million in net outflows in the latest U.S. trading session, mainly from IBIT and FBTC.
This looks more like a leverage flush than a confirmed reversal signal. The key question is whether spot buying returns—or BTC has to retest the $79K area once again.
Is this a shakeout before a new rally, or just a pause before another leg down?
🚨 Bitcoin ETFs saw $773.5M in net outflows over two sessions. Are institutions reducing risk?
Bitcoin is hovering around $80.7K, while U.S. spot ETF flows remain negative.
📉 Key points:
Bitcoin ETFs saw about $635.6M in outflows on Oct. 22 and $137.9M on Oct. 23.
BTC is trading around $80K, with long liquidation pressure on Binance during the session.
The Oct. 27–28 FOMC meeting is the next major macro event.
In my view, this is a signal to be cautious, but it’s not enough to conclude that institutions are abandoning Bitcoin for the long term. Two sessions of outflows could reflect short-term risk reduction, and flows over the coming sessions will be more telling.
Do you think this is just a pullback ahead of the FOMC, or is institutional demand actually weakening?
U.S. spot BTC ETFs recorded $635.6M in outflows on 23/10, reversing the previous session’s $528.4M in inflows. Although weekly net flows are still positive according to the data provided, this withdrawal session suggests institutional sentiment could change quite quickly.
2️⃣ Long positions continue to be liquidated
On Binance, around $35.9M in BTC longs and $26.6M in ETH longs were liquidated over 24 hours. Leverage remains a factor to watch as prices continue to weaken.
3️⃣ Initia temporarily halts network following a security incident
Initia temporarily halted its L1 and rollups to address the incident. The estimated loss of around $2.6M is an initial estimate from a third-party report, not a final figure confirmed by the project.
👀 My personal take
I’m watching the $80,000–$81,000 range for BTC. If this range holds, the market may find an opportunity to stabilize. But if ETF outflows continue and liquidation pressure increases, the risk of a deeper decline remains.
Weekend liquidity may be thin, so I don’t think there’s any need to rush into buying the dip. Monitoring the data and managing risk are still more important than trying to pinpoint the exact bottom.
Do you think BTC can hold the $80K range this weekend?👇
