What I want to talk about is the Bollinger Bands. The current price is above the upper band, and the bandwidth is at the 100th percentile of its recent range. This suggests that the price hasn’t gradually risen along the moving average; instead, buying pressure has pushed it outside the bands in a short period of time.
Being outside the bands means two things. First, the price has moved too far from the middle band, and pressure for a short-term pullback has been building. Second, bandwidth has been stretched to an extreme, which usually corresponds to an emotional peak rather than a starting point.
The daily RSI is also at an extremely high level. Taken together, these two indicators point to “too much, too fast,” not “a bad rally.”
