If stablecoins really face a run, could the fire spread to banks? On October 12, Deep Tide TechFlow cited Cointelegraph: the Financial Stability Board (FSB) submitted a report to G20 finance ministers and central bank governors, warning that gaps remain in cross-border stablecoin oversight, crisis management, and AI-related cybersecurity. Chair Andrew Bailey said that cross-border oversight and crisis management arrangements “remain immature or have yet to be established.” During a run, reserve assets could be forced into a fire sale, prompting outflows from bank deposits and bringing risks into traditional financial markets. Multi-issuer structures make things more complicated: redemptions could hit a single issuer, while reserves are spread across different jurisdictions. The FSB also finalized practices for the responsible use of AI by financial institutions, covering governance, development and deployment, cybersecurity, and third-party services. It warned that complex AI-driven cyberattacks could undermine the resilience of critical institutions and market infrastructure. Which issue concerns you more?
