Came across CryptoBriefing / Decrypt: The Uranium Finance hack case has reached a verdict—the Manhattan jury found cybersecurity consultant Jonathan Spalletta (online handle: Cthulhon) guilty of computer fraud and money laundering.

The key facts: In April 2021, he drained BNB Chain AMM Uranium twice—first exploiting a rewards bug for about $1.4 million, then, two weeks later, siphoning roughly $53.3 million in liquidity and shutting the platform down. About $26 million went through Tornado Cash; the stolen funds were also spent on Black Lotus Magic: The Gathering cards (about $500,000), Pokémon cards, Roman coins depicting Caesar’s assassination, and fabric from the Wright Flyer that went to the Moon. In February 2025, about $31 million in related crypto assets were seized. The two charges carry a statutory maximum of up to 30 years, and sentencing is set for February 16, 2027.

At trial, the defense insisted on asking “who was at the keyboard”—but the jury rejected “code is law” in about two hours. A DeFi exploit from five years ago has now translated into real-world prison time.
