Federation confirms that the peg-out remains suspended, keys are in cold storage, and an independent audit is underway, while approximately US$47 million in Bitcoin remains without a known destination.
Liquid Network published an update this Tuesday on the measures taken after the incident that shook the Bitcoin sidechain. The team confirmed that an external, independent audit of the Elements v23.3.4 code is underway, with the aim of verifying correctness before the peg-out operation—the mechanism that allows LBTC to be converted back into Bitcoin—is reactivated.
At the same time, the federation stated that it is updating its public list of PAK (Peg-Authorization Keys), responsible for the process of withdrawing assets from the network, and that all peg-out keys remain in cold storage as a security measure.
The statement outlines the technical path for resuming operations, but it does not quell the tension with the community: 598.5 BTC, equivalent to approximately US$47 million, have still not been returned.
