The people who understand AI best are starting to ask AI to slow down.
But I don’t take it as a sign that AI has peaked.
This is evidence that AI is accelerating.
Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei said AI is increasingly helping to manufacture the next generation of AI. He’s concerned that over the next 6–12 months, stronger uncontrolled agents could cause extreme cyber risks.
OpenAI and Musk then supported the call to slow down. Asian markets voted first: SoftBank fell as much as 13.2%, SK Hynix dropped 5.3%, and Samsung slid 3.7%.
But my view is the opposite:
If AI really hits a wall, nobody needs to brake.
What really needs to be reassessed isn’t “whether the AI story ends.”
Who will pay for the next round of AI safety costs.
Chips may be the first to come under pressure.
Safety, testing, and monitoring could receive new valuations.
The biggest risk for AI has shifted from “can’t build it” to “build it too fast.”
