PANews on August 21 reported that, according to CoinGlass data, over the past 24 hours there were 177,435 liquidations in the global crypto market. Total derivatives liquidations across the market amounted to $1.486 billion, including $290 million liquidated from long positions and $1.196 billion liquidated from short positions. The total liquidation amount for BTC was approximately $871 million, and for ETH approximately $299 million. The largest single liquidation order occurred on Hyperliquid - BTC-USD, valued at $23.5968 million.
It is worth noting that during the massive crypto surge on August 19 (the day before yesterday), the liquidation amount in the market reached $2.987 billion, ranking eighth in the history of crypto market liquidation events. CoinGlass labeled the background of this incident as “Treasury bond buybacks and positive SEC crypto regulatory signals.”
