Odaily Planet Daily News: A Bitcoin address that had been dormant for about 12 and a half years transferred 26.96 BTC in block 961845 at 07:03 UTC on August 10. The address begins with “14vMEC.” The address first received Bitcoin on January 31, 2014, and there had been no transfers since then. Crypto research firm Galaxy Research said the address’s average cost basis is about $803, with potential profits of about $1.73 million and a return rate of approximately 7,975%. This transfer only indicates the assets were moved to a new address; it cannot confirm that they have entered the market. This is the second marked “old coin awakening” event this month. On August 6, an address that had been dormant since 2011 transferred 49.97 BTC, with a holding period of more than 14 years. (Decrypt)
