The price of Bitcoin remains volatile in recent sessions, with attempts at recovery facing difficulties in gaining strength. BTC sought stabilization after recent drops; however, the demand from ETF investors shows fluctuations.

Despite this uncertainty, BlackRock continues to point to Bitcoin as an essential component for long-term allocation, signaling confidence that goes beyond short-term variations.

Bitcoin seems to be BlackRock's favorite

BlackRock included its Bitcoin spot ETF among the top three investment themes for 2025. The choice reflects a long-term conviction, not just the trading moment. Although Bitcoin has gone through strong fluctuations this year, investments in the ETF remain significant.

The net inflow balance in BlackRock's Bitcoin ETF reaches $29.6 billion in 2024. The total since launch already amounts to $62.5 billion. These numbers demonstrate consistent institutional interest, which explains why BlackRock continues to highlight Bitcoin in its strategy even amid market volatility.

Bitcoin shows strong performance in the futures market

The movement of ETFs in the short term shows a different scenario. Bitcoin ETFs recorded net outflows on about half of the trading days in the last month. This behavior suggests a decrease in interest among some investors, especially those with short-term goals.

On Monday, Bitcoin ETFs together totaled $142 million in net outflows. This drop shows caution in the face of price uncertainties. Even though long-term capital remains committed, recent flows show that investors are awaiting clearer signals before expanding their positions.

Derivative data reveals another dimension of this scenario. Despite fluctuating demand in the spot market, positions in perpetual contracts are increasing. With Bitcoin trading again above $90,000, interest in perpetual contracts rose from 304,000 BTC to 310,000 BTC, an increase of about 2%.

Financing rates have also risen, from 0.04% to 0.09%. The scenario indicates a renewal of leveraged purchased bets. Operators are preparing for a movement until the end of the year, increasing risk appetite even with the immediate demand still undefined.

The increase in open interest and financing rates usually signals greater optimism. However, this also amplifies sensitivity to volatility. If the upward momentum weakens, these positions may be liquidated quickly, intensifying short-term fluctuations.

Bitcoin is trading near $87,400 at the time of this report, just below the resistance of $88,210. The technical picture indicates space for a new upward attempt. Short-term momentum could gain strength if buyers sustain these levels and overall sentiment stabilizes.

Seasonal factors can affect performance. The Christmas trading week usually increases contributions and decreases liquidity. If demand grows, Bitcoin may target $90,308, supported by leveraged positions and renewed interest from investors.

On the other hand, risks remain if optimism does not materialize. A drop below $86,247 would weaken the recovery structure. In this context, Bitcoin could retreat to $84,698. This movement would invalidate the optimistic thesis and reinforce short-term caution, even with long-term institutional support.
