BlockBeats reported that on December 5, on-chain detective ZachXBT disclosed on his personal channel that British hacker Danny / Meech (also known as Danish Zulfiqar / Khan) is suspected to have been arrested by law enforcement, and his cryptocurrency assets have been seized.
He had been tracking and identifying his identity, as he is suspected to be related to the theft of $243 million in cryptocurrency from Genesis creditors in August 2024, which also involves individuals such as Malone, Veer, Chen, and Jeandiel.
Danny was also involved in the Kroll SIM card swap attack in August 2023, which leaked the personal information of BlockFi, Genesis, and FTX creditors, leading to targeted social engineering scams that have resulted in over $300 million in losses.
A few hours ago, multiple addresses associated with ZachXBT that were tracked merged and transferred $18.58 million in crypto assets to an address starting with 0xb37d, a pattern similar to past asset seizures by law enforcement agencies.
