Namada Launches Incentivized Testnet: "The Namada Shielded Expedition

Namada, a privacy-focused Layer 1 blockchain, is launching an incentivized testnet called the "Namada Shielded Expedition." The multiplayer role-playing game will reward participants with 3% of Namada's total supply. The testnet aims to test the network's consensus algorithm and Sybil resistance, allowing users to explore Namada's features and asset-agnostic privacy before its mainnet release in early 2024. During the testnet, participants will compete in an "asteroid mining race" and earn points called ROIDs. The top performers will receive a share of 30 million NAM tokens, equivalent to 3% of the total supply. The testnet will start on Jan. 15 and run until the end of the month. This announcement comes after Namada allocated 65 million tokens to researchers, developers, and stakers on the Cosmos Hub and Osmosis blockchains through a community airdrop. Namada, developed by the Anoma Foundation, is a proof-of-stake protocol that aims to enable asset-agnostic multichain privacy using zero-knowledge proofs. It also features a native Ethereum bridge for asset movement.
