Many of you have probably heard about the metaverse, but not everyone knows what it is. So, let's figure it out together! The Metaverse is the concept of an interactive three-dimensional universe that combines several different virtual spaces. It's sort of a future iteration of the Internet. It will allow users to work, meet, play and communicate within these 3D spaces.
Although the metaverse has not yet been developed in its entirety, some platforms contain elements similar to it. Most of all, modern video games are similar to it. Developers are constantly expanding their understanding of them by holding in-game events and creating a virtual economy. Cryptocurrency could be a great fit for the metaverse, as it allows for the formation of a digital economy with various types of utility tokens and virtual collectibles (NFTs).
The metaverse can use both cryptocurrency wallets, such as Trust Wallet and MetaMask, and blockchain technology to ensure transparency and reliability of the governance system. The connection between the financial, virtual and physical worlds is strengthening. Modern devices allow us to perform many tasks at the touch of a button.
We observe the same processes in the cryptocurrency ecosystem. The audience for NFTs, blockchain games and cryptocurrencies is no longer limited to crypto geeks. All of these projects are now available as part of an evolving metaverse.
The Metaverse is the concept of a three-dimensional online virtual space that connects users and all areas of their lives. It connects multiple platforms, much like the Internet with different sites accessible through a browser. The metaverse will be driven by augmented reality, where each user will have their own character or avatar. For example, you can hold a business meeting in a virtual office using an Oculus VR headset, and after work relax in a blockchain-based game or manage your cryptocurrency portfolio and finances. And all this is inside the metaverse!
HOW ARE VIDEO GAMES CONNECTED WITH THE METAVERSE? Both the metaverse and video games use the concept of a virtual 3D world, but the similarities don't end there. Modern video games offer many functions and services that penetrate different areas of our lives: for example, Roblox hosts virtual events such as concerts and meetings.
HOW DOES CRYPTOCURRENCY FIT INTO THE CONCEPT OF THE METAUNIVERSE? Games can create a 3D metaverse world, but they can't provide it with everything it needs. They can be complemented in this by cryptocurrency, which provides digital proof of ownership, transfer of funds, management and accessibility.
SUMMARY. Although the creation of a unified metaverse is likely still a long way off, we can already observe events that could lead to its emergence. This looks like another sci-fi use case for blockchain and cryptocurrencies. It is currently unclear whether humanity will truly achieve the creation of a metaverse. However, projects like the metaverse already exist and we can continue to integrate blockchain into our daily lives.
