Your wallet asks a server about your balance every day. What does that server learn about you? 🧠 In plain words Per CoinDesk, the Zcash team behind Zakura built a lookup tool using private information retrieval, so a wallet can check balances without revealing which addresses belong together. With the public and transparent nature of blockchain ledgers, every user transfer and account balance is almost completely exposed. This has long been a key reason why institutional funds and large users have hesitated to fully enter on-chain finance. COTI, which focuses on a privacy-computing architecture, has now announced its 2.0 strategic roadmap, seeking to add a “privacy firewall” across major public blockchains. 【A New Move in Cross-Chain Privacy: COTI 2.0 Roadmap Unveiled, Flagship Product Interphase Aims to Connect More Than 30 Major Public Blockchains】 According to COTI’s latest official announcement and roadmap, the team has formally established “private programmable money” as the core of its 2.0 development strategy, and launched its flagship product, Interphase, alongside the consumer-facing application COTI Global. Interphase is positioned as a multichain privacy settlement layer, with plans to support more than 30 major public blockchains. Its solver architecture is designed to move funds to a brand-new, unlinked clean address, with compliance screening built in before transfers. However, from an institutionally cautious perspective, investors must strictly distinguish between “established facts” and “long-term plans.” Interphase is still in the planning and development stage. The roadmap anticipates that cross-chain transfers among Ethereum, Solana, Bitcoin, and TRON, along with independent security audits, will begin between Q4 2026 and Q1 2027. Other L2s and public chains, including Base, Arbitrum, and BNB Chain, are scheduled for mid-2027, while virtual card spending functionality has also been delayed from the original plan. The underlying products actually running on mainnet today remain the L2 network launched in 2025, based on Garbled Circuits technology (with official figures citing approximately 5-second finality and private throughput of 250 TPS), as well as the privacy gateway on Avalanche. 【Ecosystem Transition and Value Capture: Reworking Token Utility and Testing Secondary-Market Liquidity】 What does this mean for readers? Privacy-focused public blockchains have often struggled with closed ecosystems and isolated liquidity. COTI’s shift toward a “cross-chain privacy services layer” is essentially an effort to bring privacy capabilities to major popular ecosystems, while enabling the COTI token to capture value through gas fees for cryptographic computing, node staking, and use as a settlement medium. However, on the secondary market, expectations still need to be tested against real liquidity. On Binance’s spot market, COTI is currently quoted at around 0.01329 USDT, up approximately 4.48% over 24 hours, with daily spot trading volume of about 854,000 USDT. Compared with public blockchains valued in the tens of billions, COTI’s current market capitalization and trading volume remain relatively small. Its price is therefore prone to sharp spikes in response to roadmap-related news. For a sustained valuation re-rating, however, much will depend on whether future cross-chain privacy computing can generate meaningful on-chain fee burns. 【Key Factors to Watch: Defense of the $0.0125 Floor and Delivery of the Cross-Chain Testnet】 Looking ahead, investors should closely track two measurable signals: First, the strength of support in the 0.0125–0.0128 USDT range on Binance spot. The 0.0125 USDT level has been a dense support zone where the price has tested the lows several times recently without breaking through. The real signal will be whether buyers step in after the market digests the news. If COTI spot holds above 0.0125 USDT and consolidates on declining volume, it may retain the technical momentum to challenge the 0.0145–0.0150 USDT resistance zone in the short term. Conversely, if a lack of sustained buying leads to a high-volume break below the 0.0125 USDT support, the price may revisit the 0.0118 USDT year-to-date support level in search of liquidity. Second, code delivery for the cross-chain testnet and progress on third-party security audits by the end of Q4. The true test of value is technical delivery, not white-paper ambitions. If the team delivers a testnet supporting Ethereum and Solana on schedule by the end of 2026 and passes review by reputable audit firms, the market’s valuation premium for its “cross-chain privacy layer” may be justified. If progress is delayed again, or compliance tools lack integration with major DEXs, any sentiment-driven premium could quickly evaporate. These are personal views and an information summary, not investment advice. DYOR. $COTI #COTI #Privacy

Almost three in ten Zcash coins ever mined are now hidden from view. 🧠 In plain words Per Grayscale Research's Michael Zhao, writing in CoinDesk, about 4.9 million $ZEC sit in the shielded pool, close to 29% of all ZEC mined. A shielded transaction lets the network confirm a payment is valid without showing sender, receiver or amount. Picture a sealed envelope that the post office can weigh and stamp without opening. Viewing keys are the twist: a holder can hand a regulator or accountant a key that opens only their own envelopes, without handing over the money inside. ✅ What it means for you • Privacy here gets stronger as more people use it, because each shielded transaction adds to the crowd an individual hides in. • Grayscale's argument is that AI makes it cheap to link old public transactions to identities, so a payment from 2019 can be unmasked in 2026. • The regulatory question is open: AML rules and MiCA push toward automatic reporting, which sits awkwardly with selective disclosure. Zcash makes the privacy case as AI turns public blockchains into surveillance toolsPublic blockchains were sold as transparent. In 2026, transparency has a new enemy: cheap, tireless AI that can connect the dots. Grayscale Research's Michael Zhao used CoinDesk's Crypto Long and Short column this week to argue that this changes the case for Zcash, and the numbers he cites are worth a close look. 📌 The argument Zhao's point is simple. Every transaction on a public chain is permanent, and AI now makes it cheap to link wallets to exchange accounts, data leaks, social media posts and timing patterns. A payment that looked anonymous in 2019 can be unmasked in 2026 without anyone breaking the cryptography. Grayscale calls this a third wave of financial privacy concern, after the 1970s and the 1990s, and says privacy has to be built into a network from the start because a public ledger cannot be made private later. 📊 The numbers • About 4.9 million $ZEC sit in the shielded pool, close to 29% of all ZEC ever mined, per Grayscale. • Shielded transactions grew sharply over the past two years while transparent ones stayed flat. • ZEC rose roughly 2,300% between September 2025 and September 2026, per the column. • Grayscale's spot Zcash fund, listed on the NYSE in August, gathered nearly $1 billion in just over a month. It is not registered under the Investment Company Act of 1940, and its prospectus says an investment in the fund is not a direct investment in ZEC. • Today the price is near $1,236, down about 6.6% on the day and 13.9% on the week, per CoinGecko, about 61% below its record. 🔍 How shielding works Zcash launched in 2016 from Bitcoin's code and keeps the 21 million coin limit. A shielded transaction lets the network verify a payment without revealing sender, receiver or amount. Viewing keys let a user share selected details with a regulator or a business partner without giving up control of funds. Businesses have a plain reason to want this: payroll and supplier lists are not things you publish for competitors. Zhao also notes that privacy strengthens with use, since each shielded transaction makes every individual harder to single out. ⚖️ Bull vs bear case • Bull: AI surveillance makes privacy a feature people will pay for, the shielded share keeps rising, and the ETF gives traditional investors a wrapper. • Bear: AML rules and MiCA are moving toward automatic reporting, which may collide with selective disclosure, and a 14% weekly drop after a 2,300% year shows how much of the move was speculative. • Neutral: the Ironwood upgrade shipped in July 2026, so the technical roadmap is progressing whatever the price does. 👀 What to watch next • The shielded pool share; a move well above 29% would confirm the usage story. • Flows into the Grayscale fund now that the price has cooled. • Any regulatory statement in Europe or the US that specifically addresses selective-disclosure coins. ━━━━━━━━━━━━ 💡 My take: Zhao's strongest point is not about Zcash at all, it is that "public by default" ages badly in a world of AI. Whether ZEC captures that demand depends on regulators as much as on code, and this week's price action says the market has not decided. 💬 Is on-chain privacy a right, a feature, or a regulatory problem waiting to happen? #Zcash #Privacy #AI

Zcash makes the privacy case as AI turns public blockchains into surveillance tools

Public blockchains were sold as transparent. In 2026, transparency has a new enemy: cheap, tireless AI that can connect the dots. Grayscale Research's Michael Zhao used CoinDesk's Crypto Long and Short column this week to argue that this changes the case for Zcash, and the numbers he cites are worth a close look.
📌 The argument
Zhao's point is simple.
📊 The numbers
• About 4.9 million $ZEC sit in the shielded pool, close to 29% of all ZEC ever mined, per Grayscale.

Zcash launched in 2016 from Bitcoin's code and keeps the 21 million coin limit. A shielded transaction lets the network verify a payment without revealing sender, receiver or amount. Viewing keys let a user share selected details with a regulator or a business partner without giving up control of funds. Businesses have a plain reason to want this: payroll and supplier lists are not things you publish for competitors. ⚖️ Bull vs bear case
• Bull: AI surveillance makes privacy a feature people will pay for, the shielded share keeps rising, and the ETF gives traditional investors a wrapper.
• Bear: AML rules and MiCA are moving toward automatic reporting, which may collide with selective disclosure, and a 14% weekly drop after a 2,300% year shows how much of the move was speculative.

Washington dropped a mixer rule this week, but the Tornado Cash case is not going away. Per Cointelegraph, the DOJ cited a September 25 appeals ruling that upheld the Bitcoin Fog conviction to argue that Roman Storm's case belongs in New York. Storm was convicted in August 2025 on one count, the jury deadlocked on others, his acquittal motion is still pending, and a retrial is set for April 26, 2027. In my view, the split is striking: Treasury is stepping back from new mixer reporting while prosecutors keep pressing a case over code built for $ETH users. That tension will shape how privacy tools get built in the US. 💬 Should writing privacy software ever be treated as running a money business? #TornadoCash #Privacy

Understanding Monero from Scratch: A Complete Guide for Non-Technical Users 【What Is Monero】 Monero (ticker: XMR) is a cryptocurrency. The biggest difference from Bitcoin: all transactions are private. The sender, recipient, and transaction amount are hidden from the public. But the transactions themselves are valid and can be verified by the network. 【Why Privacy Matters】 Protect your financial information: keep others from knowing your income and expenses. Prevent discrimination: merchants can't set prices based on your transaction history. Stay safe: criminals can't identify high-value targets. Political protection: dissidents can receive donations safely. 【How to Get Monero】 Buy it on an exchange: Binance, Kraken, and others support XMR. Trade peer-to-peer: use platforms such as LocalMonero. Mine it: help maintain the network using a home computer. Accept payments: offer goods or services in exchange for XMR. 【How to Store Monero】 Official wallet: the GUI wallet is suitable for desktop users. Cake Wallet: mobile-friendly and supports multiple currencies. Feather Wallet: lightweight and suitable for advanced users. Hardware wallets: Ledger and Trezor support XMR. 【How to Use Monero】 Send: enter the recipient's address and the amount, then confirm the transaction. Understanding Monero from Scratch: A Complete Guide for Non-Technical Users

【What Is Monero】

Monero (ticker: XMR) is a cryptocurrency.

The biggest difference from Bitcoin: all transactions are private.

The sender, recipient, and transaction amount are hidden from the public.

But the transactions themselves are valid and can be verified by the network.

【Why Privacy Matters】

Protect your financial information: keep others from knowing your income and expenses.

Prevent discrimination: merchants can't set prices based on your transaction history.

Stay safe: criminals can't identify high-value targets.

Political protection: dissidents can receive donations safely.

【How to Get Monero】

Buy it on an exchange: Binance, Kraken, and others support XMR.

Trade peer-to-peer: use platforms such as LocalMonero.

Mine it: help maintain the network using a home computer.

Accept payments: offer goods or services in exchange for XMR.

【How to Store Monero】

Official wallet: the GUI wallet is suitable for desktop users.

Cake Wallet: mobile-friendly and supports multiple currencies.

Feather Wallet: lightweight and suitable for advanced users.

Hardware wallets: Ledger and Trezor support XMR.

【How to Use Monero】

Send: enter the recipient's address and the amount, then confirm the transaction.

Receive: share your address and wait for the other person to pay.

Check your balance: your wallet automatically syncs blockchain data.

Transaction confirmation: confirmation usually takes 2 minutes.

【Common Misconceptions】

Monero is only used for illegal activities: False. Privacy is a basic human right.

Monero can't be audited: False. View Keys allow for selective transparency.

Monero will be banned: False. Open-source code can't be eliminated.

Monero is too complicated: False. The user experience is similar to Bitcoin.

13 years ago, the Winklevoss brothers tried to launch one of the first spot Bitcoin ETFs in the U.S. Now they’re back with another bet. $ZEC Winklevoss Asset Services filed an application yesterday to create a spot Zcash ETF. Name: Winklevoss Zcash ETF Proposed ticker: WINK Fee: 0.25% per year Custodian: Gemini And there’s one detail that caught a lot of attention: Winklevoss Capital indicated interest in buying up to US$100 million worth of shares in the fund. But it’s important to be careful here. This does NOT mean that US$100 million will flow into ZEC right away. The intention is non-binding, and there’s another even more important distinction: the ETF has NOT been approved. An application was filed. That’s all. Even so, a narrative is emerging that’s becoming hard to ignore. Zcash already has a Grayscale spot ETF in the U.S. Bitwise has also filed an application. Now Winklevoss is entering the race. At the same time, the network is testing NU7, which aims to reduce the time between blocks from 75 to 25 seconds. So ZEC is starting to bring together privacy, improving infrastructure, and institutional access. But after the huge gains ZEC has already made this year, expectations have become part of the risk. A good narrative doesn’t mean a good entry price. $ZEC #Zcash #Privacy #ETF #Crypto Could privacy become a significant institutional category… or are the ETFs arriving after much of the narrative has already been priced in? {spot}(ZECUSDT)

Close to 29% of all ZEC ever mined now sits inside Zcash's shielded pool. The privacy money is moving. AI has made it cheap to link any wallet address to the person behind it, and those records never expire on a public chain. Grayscale's Michael Zhao argues shielded transactions are the answer. Last week, wallets behind the $387M Bitget hack moved $4M in ZEC into the shielded pool to break the trail. Whatever you think of that, it proves the tech works. My take: in a world where AI watches every on-chain move, privacy stops being a niche feature and becomes the premium. $ZEC is pricing it first. Your Data Doesn’t Need To Be Public To Be Verified 🔐 $XMR demonstrated the demand for keeping financial activity private. $ADA demonstrated how decentralized networks can make activity independently verifiable. Midnight brings privacy and verification together at the application level. With zero-knowledge proofs, an application can verify that a condition is true without receiving all the private information behind it. Imagine proving you meet an income requirement. The application doesn’t need your exact salary. It needs proof that you passed the threshold. The private data stays private. The result remains verifiable. That’s the foundation of programmable privacy. #Privacy #DeFi

The legal pressure on privacy tech is hitting a boiling point. Prosecutors leaning on the Bitcoin Fog precedent to block Roman Storm’s venue challenge shows just how aggressive the crackdown on crypto mixers has become. Meanwhile, pointing to FinCEN’s withdrawn mixer rule highlights the fuzzy regulatory lines developers are forced to navigate. If code is speech, the courtroom is where we are going to find out. This case will set a massive structural precedent for open-source devs everywhere. $BTC #CryptoRegulation #Privacy #Law
