The day before yesterday, I said “the vote passed, but it hasn’t switched over yet.” Today, an update: ENSv2 is live on Ethereum mainnetWhen I wrote about ENS the day before yesterday, the conclusion was: “The vote passed, but execution is still queued.” Now I can finish that thought: ENSv2 is live on Ethereum mainnet. The official ENS blog and official X account both confirmed on October 27 that “ENSv2 is live on Ethereum mainnet.” For holders, only three things matter: 1. Your old names will continue to work as usual, with no need to re-register. Unmigrated .eth names will continue to resolve through the v1 fallback. 2. Migration is optional and can be done in the ENS App. However, according to the developer documentation, migration is one-way: once you upgrade, you can’t go back to v1.

ENSv2 is officially live on Ethereum. Put simply, the way names work has been upgraded. Before, one name handled a whole lot of things. Now subnames can have their own records, and permissions can be assigned more precisely. For example: before, one key opened every door. Now you can have a separate key for each room. This has to do with $ENS . For people who use names day to day, it means more flexibility and a clearer idea of who can do what. The price shown in the image is 5.278. ENSv2 is live on mainnet, and the timeline is full of “xxx.eth is ready for ENSv2” posts. The migration queue looks like a check-in campaign with rewards. Sorry to be a buzzkill, but however polished the upgrade is, it still doesn’t answer ENS’s real question: how many people are willing to pay rent every year to keep an .eth name? Let’s start with the facts. X news roundup: ENSv2 has launched on Ethereum mainnet. A hierarchical registry manages subdomains; there’s a new app and a new browser; old .eth names still work as usual; and migration is optional. You can also claim a generative commemorative NFT based on the June 1, 2026 snapshot—one per address, with gas costing about $1. Before launch, there was even a brief outage billed as a “first in history.” I know this commemorative NFT trick all too well. If nobody gets excited about a feature upgrade, give them a little image they can show off and bring existing users back to click a button. Then the numbers make it look like “migration is booming.” That’s not demand; it’s a check-in. Now for the critics. In a September post, @xnsname claimed monthly registrations had fallen from 437,000 to 3,000, accusing the team of building Namechain and then abandoning it, before spending millions more on v2 and piling on complexity. I can’t verify those figures, and XNS itself sells on-chain names, so it’s clear where their interests lie when they take a jab at a competitor. Another account that attacks ENS every day literally has the handle rip-ens@xns. So don’t take either side at face value. ENS supporters say, “Dead things don't ship,” but launching doesn’t mean people will use it. ENS critics cite a dramatic drop with no source, while selling an alternative themselves. My take is simple: this is an infrastructure upgrade for ENS, not a turning point in demand. To tell whether it’s really alive, don’t count check-in posts or commemorative NFTs claimed. Watch whether new registrations and renewals pick up over the next few months. Until then, buying ENS because “v2 launched” is just paying for someone else’s narrative. #ENS #以太坊

ENSv2 launched on Ethereum mainnet today. With its hierarchical registry in place, you can set your own subdomain rules and manage permissions by partition. Domains are no longer just names—they’re starting to look like infrastructure with delegated control. The ecosystem already has over 36 million domains and 600+ apps, and existing .eth names don’t need to be registered again. $BTC is hovering around $80,551, $ETH around $2,347, and $BNB around $750. First lay the infrastructure; the excitement can come later. #ENS

Domains aren’t just about having a nice-looking name—granular permissions determine whether they can scale. According to reports from PANews, good.box, and others, ENSv2, the Ethereum Name Service, is now live. It supports more granular permission settings and namespace management, and several teams have already completed integrations. How to interpret this: It’s an upgrade to identity and naming infrastructure, not a guarantee of short-term trading buzz. Its real value depends on whether apps integrate subdomains and role-based permissions into their product workflows. Keep an eye on integration progress among major wallets and dApps, migration costs, and whether namespace governance is clearly defined. For most people, the practical takeaway is to track ENS as an on-chain identity layer—not to mistake a version update for a must-buy narrative. #ENS #ENSv2 #以太坊 #Domains

ENSv2 officially launches on Ethereum mainnet: Every domain can become an independent registry, marking the biggest upgrade ever for Ethereum Name Service - On the evening of October 27 Beijing time, ENS announced that ENSv2 had officially launched on Ethereum mainnet, alongside a redesigned ENS App and ENS Explorer for developers. According to reports by PANews and KuCoin, ENSv2 introduces hierarchical registries and a more granular permissions model. Each domain can have its own subdomain registry, allowing communities and organizations to customize subdomain issuance rules and manage access by permission groups. - Existing users are unaffected: Current .eth domains do not need to be registered again, and users can upgrade to v2 voluntarily through the ENS App. Users who upgrade all eligible domains can claim a commemorative ENSv2 NFT designed by artist Polyhop (one per wallet; Ethereum network gas fees apply). - The scale of the ecosystem is what gives this upgrade its significance: ENS says its ecosystem now supports over 36 million domains across more than 600 applications. More than 40 teams have already completed v2 integrations, including 1inch, MetaMask, Safe, Uniswap, PayPal, Venmo, and OpenSea. - For traders, the significance is this: It’s not just a cosmetic refresh. Domains are evolving from “a name” into “a programmable namespace.” If wallet, payment, and app integrations follow, the narrative around ENS as an entry point for identity and payments on Ethereum could be repriced. In the short term, however, attention should be on adoption rates and real-world use cases—not just launch-day hype. My take: Short-term outlook for $ENS is neutral, because while the upgrade itself is a long-term positive, a launch does not mean adoption will materialize immediately. The vote passed, but the switch isn't complete: ENSv2 is still “queued for execution”The vote passing doesn't mean .eth has already switched to v2. Voting on the ENS DAO's “Activate ENSv2” proposal ended on October 25: approximately 1.69 million votes in favor and about 25 against. It passed the 1 million-vote quorum. The proposer was nick.eth. On Tally, its status is still Pending execution / queued—the series of transactions required to execute it hasn't actually been completed yet. Once the proposal is executed (stage 2), new .eth registrations on v1 will be frozen, BaseRegistrar will be handed over to a renewals-only contract, and a transition proxy will be connected to Universal Resolver. Labs will then perform a final pre-migration sync, open v2 registrations, switch the resolver, and transfer control to the DAO. For a few hours in between, new registrations will be unavailable on both sides, but existing names will continue to resolve normally on v1 and can still be renewed.

The vote passed, but the switch isn't complete: ENSv2 is still “queued for execution”

The vote passing doesn't mean .eth has already switched to v2.

Just saw this: The ENS DAO “Activate ENSv2” proposal vote has ended—with about 1.69 million votes in favor and only around 25 against. It easily cleared the 1 million-vote quorum and is now queued for execution. Passing the vote doesn’t mean the whole network switches over instantly. The execution step will first freeze new .eth registrations on v1. ENS Labs will then do a final sync before opening v2 registrations and switching over resolution. Existing domains will continue to work and can still be renewed, and there’s no hard deadline for migration. Under the new architecture, the flat registry will be replaced with a hierarchical one, giving finer-grained control over subdomains. Labs will also hand v2 governance back to the DAO later on. There’ll be a brief window when new names can’t be registered on either system, though renewals should generally still work. Wallets and resolution providers should keep up with Universal Resolver.$ENS #ENS #ENSv2

Binance BiBi:
