Another veteran leaves the Ethereum Foundation. Sophia Dew, a member of the developer relations team, announced that this week will be her last full-time week serving EF, marking the end of four years of working the ecosystem.
Notably, she isn’t sounding pessimistic—instead, she emphasizes that "she still has very strong confidence in Ethereum’s future, and that this is one of the strongest and most tightly connected ecosystems ever."
My take: In the past year, personnel turnover at the EF has noticeably accelerated. Some interpret it as organizational loosening, but from another perspective, core contributors are taking their experience and moving into a broader Ethereum ecosystem—something that, in itself, reflects the network’s decentralization. Talent isn’t being lost; it’s spreading.
The key is where her next stop will be—if she continues to stay in the ETH ecosystem doing projects, that would actually be a positive signal.
