💡 $1.07 billion flowed back into BTC ETFs over three days, but the price didn’t rise—the money and the market are at odds.
According to Decrypt, U.S. spot BTC ETFs saw $525 million in net inflows on Wednesday, bringing the total over three consecutive sessions since Monday to around $1.07 billion. October’s tally flipped from -$615 million to +$460 million. Monday’s $527 million came entirely from BlackRock’s IBIT, its biggest single-day inflow since September 22.
The price didn’t cooperate: BTC is now around $81,500, down 2.4% in 24 hours after touching $85,000 yesterday and pulling back. Money is flowing in, but the price is moving lower, which suggests selling pressure is also building—institutions are buying, while someone else is selling.
ETH only got a breather: Wednesday’s $14.9 million in inflows ended a five-day outflow streak, but October is still at roughly $1.07 billion in net outflows—a clear contrast with BTC.
Two key things to watch: the FOMC meeting on October 27–28, with sticky inflation keeping rate hikes on the table; and prediction markets, which give BTC just a 20% chance of reaching $87,500 before month-end, versus a 35% chance of falling to $77,500.
I’m bullish, but waiting for confirmation: positive flows are a leading indicator, but until the price holds above $85,000, I’m treating this as just a rebound.
Data as of today. Not investment advice.
Institutions bought $1.07 billion over three days. Do you think they’re buying the dip—or catching a falling knife?
