According to new data tracking the industry’s threat landscape, cryptocurrency-related security breaches have generated a total of $2.2 billion in stolen funds across 288 separate attacks so far in 2026.
The incidents span a wide range of attack vectors, including protocol exploits, private key compromises, attacks on infrastructure, social engineering, and AI-driven scams. A small number of large-scale breaches account for a disproportionate share of total losses.
