The $75,208 line I flagged this morning held. It survived the 08:00 UTC options expiry, a Nasdaq rout, and a fear gauge that fell off a cliff — and that surprised me more than the sell-off did.
Here's what actually happened. Bitcoin trades around $75,763, down 5.97% in 24 hours (Finnhub, 08:23 UTC), after opening at $80,572 and wicking to $75,208.42. The Nasdaq fell 5.52% and the S&P 500 4.36% on the same AI-spending fears, and CoinGlass counted about $1.24B in crypto liquidations over 24 hours — 88.6% of them longs, $325M of it Bitcoin alone. This wasn't a crypto-only story; it was risk getting sold everywhere at once.
And the mood? The Fear & Greed Index printed 28 today — Fear — down from 50 (Neutral) yesterday (Alternative.me). A 22-point drop in one day. Last week it was 30, a month ago 71. The crowd went from greedy to scared in four weeks, and the scared part happened overnight.
So why does the $75,208 hold matter? Because that wick was bought back within hours, even as a billion dollars of leveraged longs got flushed. A level that holds through an options expiry and a liquidation flush like that is not a coincidence. It's a line the market respects, at least for now — and it's the third time this week buyers have stepped in near $75,200.
My stance: leaning bullish on the level, not on the market. I like the floor, I don't like the tape. Fear at 28 with the Nasdaq down 5.5% is not a market I'd chase with size — it's a market I'd let prove itself first.
The plan, if you're watching the same line I am:
Entry zone $75,200–$75,800 — the floor itself, not the middle of nowhere.
Target 1 $76,405 — today's early high, where sellers first pushed back.
Target 2 $77,970 — the level reclaimed in Wednesday's rally, then lost.
Target 3 $80,643 — today's open, the full reclaim.
Stop below $75,208 — a daily close under it, not a wick.
Scale-out: half at Target 1, a quarter each at Targets 2 and 3, move the stop to entry once Target 1 hits. Keep size light — this is leaning conviction only, and fear this thick punishes anyone who sizes like they're certain.
The risk is sitting right in front of us: US jobs data lands at 13:30 UTC. Consensus is about 65,000 new jobs, unemployment 4.2% (FXStreet). A soft print could send the dollar down and give Bitcoin the bounce toward $76,405; a hot print, with December hike odds already near 69%, could be the push that finally cracks $75,208. Either way, the number decides — not my opinion. Bitcoin ETF outflows hit $430M in 24 hours too, so the big money is already nervous heading into the print.
What would prove me wrong: a daily close below $75,208. If that prints, the floor story is dead, the next stop is $74,000, and I'll own it in the next post instead of quietly moving on.
The next update comes the moment NFP prints — or the moment $75,208 breaks. Whichever comes first, that's when I check back in.
Are you buying the floor at $75,208, or waiting for NFP to tell you what to do?
