on a curious note how is the funding rate calculated ?
I opened a short position on futures on $OMNI the funding rate when opened was after 4hrs but at 12.00pm UTC time the rates changed to 1hr💔
my position entry point was 5.9 with a 25% leverage
was checking my account and noticed my balance was a bit less despite the profit.
from chatgpt was told the funding rate was calculated as position size X (funding rate/100)
from the calculation above since the funding was negative the amount deducted could not be that much but checking my account the fees deducted as much higher ..lost twice my margin size 💔😭 hoping 1/3 of the profit to cover it up when I close my trade.
if you know how is the funding rate calculated please assist can't be the only one who lacks info on it
