According to Foresight News, Anichess, a chess strategy game under Animoca Brands, has successfully raised $1.8 million in funding. The funding round was led by Sfermion and Amber Group, with participation from Fenbushi Capital, Aspen Digital, and SNZ Capital. The funds will be used to support game development, marketing activities, and team expansion.
Previously in June 2023, Foresight News reported that Anichess had completed a seed funding round of $1.5 million. The investors included GameFi Ventures, Coin Operated Group, Koda Capital, Bing Ventures, 708 Capital, and Asymmetry Capital. In January 2024, Animoca Brands collaborated with Chess.com and world chess champion Magnus Carlsen to launch the first phase of the Anichess game.
