Seeing every open position on Hyperliquid, not just one wallet Hyperliquid runs on-chain, so every open perp position is public: size, entry price, leverage, plus an estimated liquidation price. The hard part is reading them all at once. Why one wallet at a time is slow • The official API's clearinghouseState request returns positions for one address you already know. • No request lists every trader. • Each call uses 2 of the 1,200 weight points each IP address gets per minute, so one server checks about 600 wallets a minute. Why that matters In one snapshot we looked at, there were 412,775 open positions across all markets, 39,905 of them on BTC. A wallet-by-wallet scan goes stale before it finishes. What a market-wide view shows In that same snapshot, BTC positions worth $3.36B were split almost exactly 50/50 between longs and shorts. Narrowed to the top 10,000 leaderboard accounts, it was 645 positions worth $1.82B, with shorts holding 60%. A single-wallet view can't show a gap like that. Read it with care • Market makers hold both sides, and a short can hedge a long held elsewhere. • One trader can run several wallets. • Liquidation prices shift when margin changes. The free Flowscan Terminal shows this in a browser, no login. Hydromancer's guide to Hyperliquid trader positioning covers the API side and daily history. $HYPE #Hyperliquid
Seeing every open position on Hyperliquid, not just one wallet
Hyperliquid runs on-chain, so every open perp position is public: size, entry price, leverage, plus an estimated liquidation price. The hard part is reading them all at once.
Why one wallet at a time is slow
• The official API's clearinghouseState request returns positions for one address you already know.
• No request lists every trader.
• Each call uses 2 of the 1,200 weight points each IP address gets per minute, so one server checks about 600 wallets a minute.
Why that matters
In one snapshot we looked at, there were 412,775 open positions across all markets, 39,905 of them on BTC. A wallet-by-wallet scan goes stale before it finishes.
What a market-wide view shows
In that same snapshot, BTC positions worth $3.36B were split almost exactly 50/50 between longs and shorts. Narrowed to the top 10,000 leaderboard accounts, it was 645 positions worth $1.82B, with shorts holding 60%. A single-wallet view can't show a gap like that.
Read it with care
• Market makers hold both sides, and a short can hedge a long held elsewhere.
• One trader can run several wallets.
• Liquidation prices shift when margin changes.
