Most people look at prices. Very few look at what's happening underneath it.
Here's something I wish I learned earlier:
#BTC☀️ pumps while Open Interest drops = usually not real buying.
What's actually happening? Traders who bet against the market are being forced to close their positions. They buy back to exit, and that pushes the price up. It looks bullish on the chart, but there are no fresh buyers behind it. It's a short squeeze, not a trend.
Now flip it.
Price up + Open Interest up = new money is entering and people are opening fresh positions. That's a move with real conviction behind it.
Same green candle. Completely different story.
Next time $BTC or any major coin pumps, spend 10 seconds checking Open Interest before you chase it. It can save you from buying someone else's exit.
Do you check Open Interest before entering a trade, or just the price? 👇
Not financial advice. Always do your own research.

Handelt entsprechend 👇🏻
