There is a moment that catches most new DEX users off guard. You see an estimated output before confirming. A slightly different number arrives after settlement. Nothing went wrong but nobody explained why those two numbers are rarely identical.

A STONfi swap involves four different price values, each describing a different moment in the same trade.

SPOT PRICE

Spot price is the current ratio between the two assets in the pool. It tells you where the pool sits right now but does not account for your trade size, the 0.3% swap fee, or the price impact your transaction creates by shifting the pool reserves.

It is the baseline before your trade touches anything.

QUOTED PRICE

The quote factors in your specific amount, the pool's liquidity depth, and fees. It gives a much more accurate picture of what you should receive.

But it is still an estimate. On TON, another transaction can settle between the moment you receive your quote and the moment your swap executes, shifting the pool reserves before yours arrives.

MINIMUM OUTPUT

This is your boundary. Minimum output comes from your slippage tolerance setting and defines the lowest amount you are willing to accept. If pool conditions have moved enough that execution cannot meet that floor, the swap fails and your funds return automatically rather than settling at a worse result.

Set it too tight and normal market movement causes failures. Set it too wide and you reduce the protection the limit is there to provide.

FINAL OUTPUT

Final output is the actual number that reaches your wallet. It reflects real execution against real pool conditions at that exact moment not an estimate and not a projection.

The difference between your quoted amount and final output does not mean something went wrong. It reflects pool movement between quote and execution. $XRP +13.5%, and barely beat Bitcoin; the others opened a much wider gap

BCH +48.2%,
DOGE +22.5%,
BTC +13.0%.

NEAR - the clearest usage case. DefiLlama tracks $4.26B in NEAR Intents volume and $1.38M in protocol revenue over 30 days. That is measurable business, although swap volume is not profit and an 86% rally can outrun adoption.

$BCH: a concrete new catalyst. CME announced futures for October 19, pending regulatory review. Better access matters, but futures allow bearish bets too. A listing does not guarantee institutions will buy spot BCH.

XRP - an upgrade to watch. Batch V1.1 has 30 of 35 validators behind it but isn't active yet. It enables linked transactions. Useful infrastructure; actual adoption must still follow.

$DOGE: I’d demand more confirmation. Its surge accompanied a marketwide short squeeze.
That supports a momentum explanation, not proof the entire move was leverage. The test is whether spot buyers stay after forced buying fades.

$NEAR; has the strongest usage evidence; BCH the freshest catalyst; XRP needs adoption follow-through; DOGE needs buying that outlasts the squeeze. None is automatically a “fake” rally.

XRP and NEAR look more convincing than DOGE and BCH right now.

DOGE is exploding, but a large part of today’s move came with a massive short squeeze. BCH, meanwhile, is moving more in line with the broader market.

$XRP is more interesting because the rally comes alongside a 10-week streak of positive spot ETF flows, while $NEAR had already shown strong relative momentum before this broader move.

That doesn’t mean either move is guaranteed to continue.

But if I had to separate momentum from a potentially stronger trend, XRP and NEAR are the two I’d be watching most closely.

🔥 FOMC September: The Real Trade Starts After the Rate Decision

The September FOMC is different this time: Kevin Warsh—not Jerome Powell—is leading the Fed, and this is his first FOMC meeting as Chair.

Markets are pricing roughly a 91–93% probability of a 25bp hike, taking rates from 3.50%–3.75% to 3.75%–4.00%.

But the bigger question is what comes next.

August CPI rose 0.4% MoM and 3.4% YoY. Core CPI rose 0.3% MoM and 2.4% YoY. PPI climbed 0.4% MoM and 5.4% YoY. Meanwhile, August payrolls increased 162,000 and unemployment remained 4.1%.

That is not a clean disinflation story.

Markets are already showing the pressure: the 10Y Treasury yield has moved above 5%, while oil remains above $100/barrel.

🎯 What I’m watching tonight

25bp hike + hawkish Warsh:
Higher yields + stronger DXY could pressure BTC, stocks and gold.

25bp hike + softer guidance:
If yields and DXY fall after the decision, risk assets could react sharply higher.

For BTC, I’m watching $75K, DXY near 99.6, and the 10Y yield around 5% as the immediate reaction levels.

The hike may already be priced in.

The surprise will come from the path after it.
