I've been thinking about Babylon quite a bit lately, and one question keeps coming back to me

Everyone seems to be watching how much BTC is being staked. I get why—it’s an easy number to point to. But I don't think that number tells the whole story

Money always moves toward better opportunities. If the rewards are attractive, people will stake. That's nothing new. What I'm more curious about is what happens when those rewards aren't the main attraction anymore

Will developers still choose Babylon because Bitcoin-backed security has become something they genuinely depend on? Or will they move to the next solution that offers a better deal

To me, that's the question that really matters

I've seen plenty of projects attract liquidity with incentives. That's the easy part. Becoming something builders don't want to replace is much harder, and it usually takes time

That's why I don't judge Babylon by today's staking numbers alone. I pay more attention to whether it quietly becomes part of how developers think about security. If that happens, the role of BABY could grow naturally because it's tied to something people actually rely on—not just something they're rewarded for using

Maybe that's where this is heading. Maybe it isn't. It's still early

For now, I'm less interested in asking how much BTC is locked, and more interested in asking a different question

If the incentives disappeared tomorrow, would developers still miss Babylon enough to keep building around it
