Bitcoin has bounced back from the $75,700 zone and pushed all the way toward $81,000. But if you've been following the price action, you'll notice something interesting: the market first trapped the bulls, then turned around and trapped the bears.
This kind of price action can be frustrating, especially for traders trying to predict every short-term move.
However, my overall outlook hasn't changed. I'm still bearish.
Here's why I'm staying cautious.
1. US Midterm Elections
The Democrats secured a major victory in the November 3 US midterm elections, taking control of both the House and Senate.
In my view, the political shift could introduce additional uncertainty for financial markets, particularly around future economic and crypto-related policies.
I don't believe one political event alone determines Bitcoin's direction, but it's certainly something worth keeping an eye on.
2. Important Economic Events Ahead
We have several major US economic releases coming up that could influence market sentiment and increase volatility:
November 6: US Non-Farm Payrolls (NFP)
November 10: US CPI Inflation
November 13: US PPI Inflation
November 17: US Retail Sales
November 18: FOMC Meeting Minutes
November 25: US PCE Inflation
These reports will provide more insight into the US economy and could influence expectations surrounding the Federal Reserve's future interest-rate decisions.
3. Other Factors I'm Watching
Apart from economic data, I'm also paying close attention to:
Federal Reserve interest-rate expectations.
US Dollar Index (DXY).
US Treasury yields.
Nasdaq performance.
Overall liquidity and market sentiment.
All these factors can influence risk assets, including Bitcoin.
My Final Thoughts
Bitcoin can continue moving unpredictably in the short term. We might see more fake breakouts, sudden reversals, and liquidity hunts that catch traders on both sides of the market.
But I'm not changing my overall bearish outlook just because BTC has bounced.
A short-term recovery doesn't automatically mean a trend reversal.
For now, I'm staying cautious, watching the upcoming economic data, and waiting for stronger confirmation before changing my market bias.
Remember: Don't let short-term market movements force you into emotional trading. Always manage your risk.
